I read about this from Canalworld.
And.... what of the hideous ex-lifeboats on the canals... they don't look very navigable as 'boats', do they? Are they 'canal boats', 'inland waterways craft' or 'houseboats'? They certainly are ugly and look out of place. What of the 'piano boat' parked up in Leeds (allegedly going all the way to London - yeah, right.) - that's another floating garden shed, isn't it?

The piano boat is a thing of beauty in my view.

I shall have to get in touch with the geyser and suggests he locks it up with a big chain.

Well, it is a bit of an eyesore, but then again when you invite eleventy billion immigrants into the country to drive house prices through the roof, normal people still need somewhere to live so I'm on his side.

The man who constructed this has claimed that both his insurance company and C&RT have accepted it as a 'boat', and if this is so it would be interesting to know precisely what sort of 'boat' C&RT have accepted it as.
There is no such thing as a Houseboat Licence, any more than there is any such thing as a 'Rivers only Licence' for vessels limiting their range of use to the river waterways listed in Schedule 1 of the 1971 BW Act.
Houseboats have to be covered by a Houseboat Certificate, . . . something which BWB, and now C&RT, have become increasingly unwilling to issue, even to genuine houseboats, as opposed to the vessels that are branded as houseboats in C&RT's boat thieving exercises as a supplementary Court hood-winking expedient to increase their chances of winning Court endorsement for their dishonest shenanigans. I don't have the exact number to hand, but I believe that the total count of Houseboat Certificates issued by C&RT annually is around the 60 to 70 mark.

I can't help thinking that the marina didn't mind the floating shed, until someone in the newly renovated flats around the marina complained.
