Does anyone here know whether trading boats will be allowed to use red diesel after the tax changes next year?

If the use of white diesel is by direction of the EU then red diesel is allowed on the continent for commercial barges and hotel boats etc. There is a fuel in France called GNR. gas oil non routiers which barges over 20m where allowed to use at first but then they changed the rules so that all pleasure boats had to use road legal diesel. Unfortunately the GNR is coloured so it’s very visible to the customs. David

Anyone here had their tank dipped? For the next 2-3 years, if someone turns up to check your tank, who will know when you last filled up? After that, we'll be out, so who cares!

Why should the UK comply with this "directive"? We will be out of the EuSSR in a few months.

Why should the UK comply with this "directive"? We will be out of the EuSSR in a few months. Uk will comply as they will be receiving higher tax income. I asked the question as I was wondering about buying a traders licence and if that allows the legal use of red diesel? That’s assuming red diesel will still be generally available at boat yards.

Why should the UK comply with this "directive"? We will be out of the EuSSR in a few months. Uk will comply as they will be receiving higher tax income. trouble is it will cost money to run and enforce. At the moment the exchequer receives a reasonable amount of tax for virtually no cost of collection. I doubt that the extra revenue will be worth the extra costs involved with collection/enforcement
