Jim its called democracy, we have a vote then do the wishes of the majority, what you dont do unless you support banana republics is ignore that vote, Its very dangerous and will mean that people will never trust Parliament again. If this Brexit process ends in riots, because undemocratic people seek to overturn what was voted for, those people will have to shoulder that blame because that is where it will firmly lay So, in a democracy, people can't change their minds? I've not had a straight answer from a leaver yet, on that question. Yes, of course you can change your mind. You get in the queue, vote for whoever you want to once every 5 years, and then persuade your elected representative that you would like to have another referendum for the UK to join (or re-join) the EU. It's that simple. But you mustn't shove, wait your turn politely in the great British spirit of Mustn't Grumble. Quite honestly, now that everyone has seen what a spiteful bunch of blackmailers Juncker & Co. are, and how spineless those in the UK Parliament are, I shouldn't be surprised if it wasn't now 85% who want to tell Merkel and her bitches to roundly Piss Off.

Perhaps they could send that submarine and load to moor outside the houses of parliament when its a full house!! show the barstewards what happens when they try to break the democratic will of the people! With luck, their could be a large 15 million anti brexit demo going on at the same time....................................... Would that be the democratic will of the 52% who voted leave 2 years ago, or the 52% who will vote remain now they understand the facts and some have changed their minds? My son (who I think you have met?) voted Remain in the 2016 referendum, but he tells me that if the referendum was re-run, then he would now vote Leave, as would most of his peer group. I think a major factor in this is the unaffordability of housing for his generation. I voted Leave, and I would vote Leave again, because I would vote to keep my job, not see it disappear to be taken over by some Romanian or Bulgarian happy to work for £600 a month.

Not enough spite for you to move to the "land of the free" and contribute to Ann Gloags pension then?

It might get a little bit silly if they did do a second referendum and even more people voted to leave.

It is an unusual situation.
Personally I think Cameron should be taken out and shot for the double bluff. And all that just to get a second term as PM. It shows the weakness in the system. Short term individual gain with no view for the future.
Cameron wanted to remain? My arse.

We don't know where we'll be in future, but moving to England is also a possibility. Gargrave would be a nice spot if we win the Lotto. I have to ask about my job next May... does it continue Aug 2019 until June 2020...? Or we could just move next door to you and hang the Engerland-land flag outside our bedroom window

It might get a little bit silly if they did do a second referendum and even more people voted to leave. None of those people who said they'd leave the USA if Trump got in actually left, did they? Are there any Remainers who made the same promise concerning Brexit, and have any of them left?

Tears before bedtime whichever way you look. Yes they can change their minds but as Foxy says we cant keep on having referendums util we are made to vote the right way!! The EU has form for this remember, so the simple answer is on the day that is the way we voted so implement it

It seems like there's a push for a second referendum, if it happens it will shatter the illusion of democracy in this country.

I'm not sure any party would do another vote, they may never get voted in again.

And do recall, that prior to the referendum, it was generally considered to be a good thing that the nation 'gets to speak' on the issue.
The fact is that NO ONE knows what the hell is going to happen.
My guess is that the deal is rejected by parliament, EU intransigence prevents any significant concessions (how can they concede too much or there'll be a mass exodus) and we exit without a deal.
To be honest, I'm sick of the entire mess. Only politicians could create this situation.

My question still hasn't been answered, Are people not allowed to change their minds?

My question still hasn't been answered, Are people not allowed to change their minds? so if we have a general election and the party you want to win don't. Would you call for another general election?

I think its entirely reasonable to have a general election every 3rd Saturday (so that working people can turn up) until the Monster Raving Loony Party get in.
