Drove up to Langholm on Saturday, first stop after Gretna Green on the A7. M6 north no problems at all, lovely views, pies at Tebay services, enjoyed the drive. I like that services and the one at a lake can't remember the name.

I think that you've become a bit too "Finnish" Peter. And sometimes I wish he would finish 😊

Today is the 60th anniversary of the opening of the first section of UK motorway, The M6 Preston By-pass, by Prime Minister Harold Macmillan. 👍

Killington lake is after Tebay if travelling south, and is only on the southbound side. There is a Tebay both northbound and southbound,

I might not be wrong then. the one I'm remembering is only on one side, however it may be north of the border.
it's been too long.

Killington lake is after Tebay if travelling south, and is only on the southbound side. There is a Tebay both northbound and southbound, the one on the south bound side is supposedly for truckers, you have to come off the motorway at the Tebay junction. Pies not as good!

I know there's a truck stop somewhere around there, but I've never used it. We usually stop at Tebay southbound, as it's better for dog walking than Killington Lake.Northbound it's Tebay, or, if I'm on my own, I tend to carry on to Todhills Rest area. (The HGV parking area there is much better than the layby reserved for mere cars. )
