"In a similar case, Vijay Mallya, the former chairman of India’s largest brewer, who has also been charged with financial misconduct, had his yacht—the Indian Empress—seized in Malta. Although the boat was sold in September for €35m, a number of items that were on board, including valuable paintings, were spirited away before they could also be seized" Vijay Vittal Mallya (born 1955) is a slimy Indian businessman and former politician who is the subject of an extradition effort by the Indian Government to return him to India from the UK to face charges of financial crimes.

An all round nice guy then, just the sort of person the uk should be giving refuge to.

I've just watched a few episodes of "Can't pay,we'll take it away" I was amazed at the number of Indians owing 10s of thousands of pounds who after it becomes apparent that the Bailiffs won't go away empty handed suddenly are able to come up with many thousands IN CASH!! Why didn't they pay up in the first place. Phil

All the Rothko material on my boat is copies. Honestly. I really like Rothko and find it incredibly moving looking at his work but keeping my originals on board is a blatant security risk. Too much value. Its better to lock them up in a vault with a twenty seven inch thick steel door. So that's what I do.

I do miss the originals. They are very impressive works. Its a shame to just have 10 inch high copies but such is life !
At least the little ones don't make me burst into tears and embarrass everyone
