Oh yes, I had a Mini. A red 1964 Mini with the long gearstick. I used to have to bump-start it every day on my own because the battery was goosed and I couldn't afford a new one.

Pretty close The 305 (not 309) was one of the best of the mundane stuff, even taking into account the weird alternator set up where the belt ran through 90° The 2.0l auto Ambassador was pretty good too. You missed one HA van off the list. A repeat customer of Tanner's Van sales Burton Latimer, quality ex GPO stock arriving daily. Tanner's was part of the A6 corridor second hand car sales - from Bedford to Leicester you were never short of a shady car lot to get yer next pile of trouble Shame neither of us could keep the rusty Capri's they are worth a bloody mint now 😒

Vauxhall Chevtte L - donated to me and was supposed to be my first car - it was as rotten as a pear so never made it onto the road. 1982 mk3 (not 5 @bassplayer ) Capri - first car, loved it 1981 mk3 capri - donor for some bits and pieces for the above 1985 Vauxhall Nova 1.3 GL - donated by the future mother in law; written off within 3 months, hateful thing anyway. 1986 Fiesta 1.6 Diesel, it started life as a popular plus but eventually became an XRD, great little car that succumbed to tin worm 1989 Orion I ghia, written off in my brothers care. 1990 Orion 1.8 d L - that became a Ghia DI thanks to the above 1985 Fiesta 1.1l - 5 speed 1 owner mint car that cost a tank of diesel in a Hi Lux to tow it home. It Then cost many hours welding it up but was in such good condition it was worth saving. 1991 Fiesta 1.8 d - that got a light XRD treatment too. 1991 Vauxhall Frontera Sport - ace car that worked hard for NMCC - passed on to mouse until terminal electrical failure did for it. 1999 2.5d Transit LWB, race support vehicle, motor home, scrap metal merchants van, builders van, recovery vehicle- you name it it did it, miss that a lot. 1990 Peugeot 1.1 GR, mega car that came for free, much like the 1.1 Fiesta it was 1 owner that died, unlike the ford it needed no welding at all to get it back o the road, gave a slight hint of just how good a 205 GTI was. Sold to a lad who put a 306 gti 6 engine in it! 1991/2 Astra 1.7 Td - hand me down from mouse prior to it going to the great scrapyard in the sky. 2009 Hyundai i10 - great little car, sadly some light fingered fuckers pinched it 2002 Ford puma 1.7 thunder, epic little car, my sister had it off me when we got the first Alfa - very much missed. 2011 Skoda Octavia 1.8 tsi 4x4, current wheels, brilliant bit of kit 2014 Alfa Romeo Mito 140 Distinctive - very good car that got chopped in for..... 2018 Alfa Romeo Mito 170 Veloce - even better than the 140 but willl be the last as they have discontinued it. This one should be a keeper. I’ve discounted kit we have tidied up and moved on as that feels cheating a bit
