There'll be somebody in the engineroom with their foot on the governor linkage and the overload latch off ! At least they chose the best possible time of the month to run it ashore, . . just about right at the bottom of Neaps now with every subsequent tide making a bit more than the last.

Onlookers watch as Russian cargo ship is refloated off Cornwall coast after owner blamed Britain for 16,000-tonne vessel running aground (despite it having 100 faults at last inspection)Murmansk Shipping Company has blamed dangerous conditions around Falmouth for the grounding of their vessel. And the company said it could launch legal action to reclaim expenses caused by the incident. First deputy general director Ildar Neverov said: "The vessel caught on a chain that was at the bottom of the strait." - pics or it didn't happen!www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6507051/Russian-cargo-ship-runs-aground-Cornwall-beach.html"The captain has got to blame someone, because Comrade Putin will want answers for the embarrassing and incompetent actions of the crew." "What a pile of old junk. Typical Russians: we rescue them and they complain about us. Should have left them on the rocks." - I think it would be a laugh now to drag them back, after their outburst and accusation!

It would seem from reports that the ship dragged its anchor and from the ais track this looks correct. The question is was anybody on watch checking the position, if so why didn’t they start the engine as soon as they knew or drop the other anchor. No good blaming Falmouth. Like the smokeless Russian fuel.
