Can't u tell its the weekend and no bus runs...... Surprisingly I have just come back from the company's 'Little Christmas' gathering. The big boss of the whole company was sitting next to me and I showed her pics of our canal boat and I think I bored her to death. My work is done. That's you out of a job then.

Within the Strictly aura now. Tied up outside the NIA in preparation for tomorrow night. The opening shows are today so we are inhaling the vapour. We’ve been going to it for the past 6 years, always wanted to have the boat outside, never managed it until now. And you're missing this. I like the music:

Hope it's as good (did I just write that) as you anticipate ... enjoy the show.

At the end of the day...we voted leave What's the point of a vote if we don't abide by the results ? I've voted for parties in the past which have lost general elections.Did I then get into a frenzy about another vote ?The answer is obviously not.A vote is just that & not the best of 3,4,5,6 etc... And every time there has been a general election in the UK, has everyone really been aware of the 'facts' ? I demand a re-run (sorry - 'People's Vote') for every election held since the early 1800s, as, clearly, no-one has ever known what they have been voting for. I'm sure all of the campaigns have been in favour of one party or another. As for Tusk and Druncker, can't we get the SAS to just nip over to Brussels to make them 'disappear'? Job for Stabbers and our resident MI6 chappie methinks. You get a re-run every five years (or sooner if the government really cocks up and loses a no confidence vote)

Well Strictly was as great as expected. We had a glass or two of chilled Cava on the boat, then walked 50 yds to the venue. After the show we just had to walk the 50 yds back to the boat, whilst the hordes of tiny girls in pink tutus and over sexed middle age women inflamed by Aljaž’s pheromones, battled with taxi queues and traffic jams!
Back down Farmer’s bridge and Aston today, all locks full (except for a couple of leaky ones), no moving boats seen and i don’t think there had been any traffic since we came up on Saturday. Quite a nice morning weather wise, though there is a cold wind this afternoon (not to worry, Jeff is driving us to Minworth whilst I am cozy next to the stove!).

You're not fooling me - it's grim in Birmingham.

Farmers bridge is a lovely flight of locks. I've not been through there since the late nineties but I do remember it as being very pleasant.

You are down the 18th century, with layers of 19th, 20th and 21st centuries above. And it is pretty rubbish-free for an urban canal, plus lots of interested towpath walkers.

Glad the show wasn't a disappointment ... sounds like an annual event in the making Rog
