Quite right. Should it be 'bitumening'? The cognoscenti say Epoxy 2 pack😉

Because Dulcinea is quite deep I like to keep the starn out. This way if the levels drop the props are in deep water.
One way is using an ally dinghy boom but I just realised a potentially even better solution would be to interact with the end of a scaffold tube in such a way that it becomes a screw-pile. This could work out very nicely.
teeth on the end and a tee bar at the top. Saves hammering. Hammering is too noisy.

First coat of bitumen now on the boat, half went on yesterday and half today. Could do with it being 5-6 degrees warmer really, will probably be Sunday before the second coat goes on due to the cold. A set of old anode bars have been cut off and new anodes are ready to be welded on. Managed to get the rocker cover off, Pete says he's got a few BMC 1500 rocker covers knocking about so we'll probably replace it rather than repair it.

Not really my thing on a daily basis but it was good with the snooker. I'm not one to neck a large volume of spirits I suppose it is still 3/4 full. When one is somewhat of an elbow bender it is best to generally avoid spirits. The latest person I know about who drowned off the back of their Boat was a spirits drinker. Not ideal me thinks as it takes the legs away. So its beer or cider for me.

What about Cragganmore ... not had that but I do like Highland and Speyside whisky. We don't drink until boating is over for the day as a rule. Too easy to get things wrong. Rog

Rog The Cragganmore will be good. Not had Cragganmore for about 30 yars but it is a good one. I heard if one were to sell a pro kayak racing paddle for about £150 one can then exchange the tokens for several bottles. Oh well it seemed better to give them back to the owner.

Well tomorrow should see us back at Braunston on the GU and on the route to Rembrandt Gardens (subject to the weather). We're looking forward to getting to Wilton locks and beyond as it's years since we've been that way. Such fun 😊 Rog Glad to hear someone is looking forward to the Buckby Flight - I think it's my least favourite on the whole system. Not a flight I/we ever really enjoy. No idea why.

Yes it is quite pleasant isn't it.
Bit chilly again fire going but the general conditions are undispleasing.

Now here's a funny thing ... but in a good way. nb Bristol, built by Harland & Wolfe in 1936 is a 'town class' boat and is currently being de-converted (if that's even a thing) by its current owner. The back cabin's been lovingly rebuilt and the cabin top is going to be removed in early June to return it, as far as possible, to its working state. Fascinating to see and I'm looking forward to seeing it later in the year. I wonder what colours he'll paint it in ... believe it did carry for Willow Wren and also G.U.C.C. Rog
