Finally getting some decent weather at the gliding club, yesterday I was up at 8000’ flying above cloud in wave down to Loch Tay and back, today looks promising for a 300 km route in thermals (the lift source, not the underwear before anyone asks!). It almost feels like summer, spring having been bypassed!

6 consecutive days out on the kayak now. Built up to my regular 5 mile training runs. Nice 7 mile walk yesterday along the Mawddach Way to Penmaenpool, pint in The George, across the toll bridge, bus back to Barmouth.

Took the floating electric beer drinking platform out yesterday for the first time in ages. Which was nice.
The little blue Boat is back in the fleet tomorrow and looking at an electric conversion.
Its also going to have torpedo tubes and some other mil spec hardware.
Its a noddy Boat so presumably everyone will know it is for a giggle and they won't arrest me.

Work finished for another week. Lots of paintwork to do at the weekend. Just slapped a load of Kurust on the bow deck, will rub that down and give it two coats of Hammerite satin black over the weekend. Also planning to re-paint the coachline on the mooring side. When that's fully cured I'll wax the whole lot then turn the boat round and do the other side.

I'm going to put some Kurust on the stern deck too but I'll leave that on there for three weeks.

Hated it when I was a kid, normally the caulli was cooked to death, the sauce split and hardly any cheese added - a watery mush smelling of eggs - yuck!
Quite like caulli and brocolli par boiled then finished in the oven with a proper creamy cheesy sauce nowadays.

But what about the £8.95 pint your never going to drink?

Lovely day today, I flew 300km around Scotland and then we had a barbecue in perfect weather this evening. 40 people for the BBQ, but I managed to avoid getting roped in to helping with it. I just had to eat it! Plus the club has proper real ale in barrels, I am feeling quite mellow and slightly pink.

Some people may like it ! I love it. My sainted old Mum used to make it as a meal with brown bread and butter ... gorgeous. Of course if what is presented as cauliflower cheese is horrible, nobody will like it ... but that's true of any dish isn't it ? The problem then is not the dish but the maker. Rog

My mother was a good cook. She used to cook for the bankers (sp) in the City when younger. I think cauliflower might be a bit like brussels sprouts. There could be a tastebud issue. I can't stand the taste of brussels sprouts but the daughters and in particular the younger unit finds them delicious. Maybe cauliflower is similar as I have have never found it in any way tasty. I am pretty sure that even in the most expensive and highly competent catering establishment in the world I would still find that cauliflower cheese tastes shite innit
