News from Stretton-under-Fosse is that having not worked for just over a week now and thinking "I wish the agency would find me some work", the agency phoned me today and offered me work for the rest of this week and now I'm thinking "I wish I didn't have to go to work tomorrow". I guess this is called "a paradox". I have kept myself busy though, mostly doing restoration on the little Honda. I stripped off the time-expired plastic from the girly basket with a Stanley blade (taking much of the skin off of my fingers in the process) and now it's at the powder coaters.

But next, just βborrowβ a basket from Tesco, and some gaffer tape.

Had a short pootle on the boat today, 2 locks, from Todmorden sani Station. I've made a couple of covers for bow deck and stern deck to keep the worst of the weather out. Cheap tarp, brass eyelets, 5mm bungee and some clips. Find of the day, a smallish manual bilge pump floating in t'cut. Pic of Tod Guillotine lock For Picky Pedant andrew, only one paddle working on the offside, so boat is all askew. I prefer to open paddle on same side as boat to keep it against the wall, but it wasn't to be. There was also a major spurtter on the gate slide so it took ages to fill.

And it looks a bit "pikey".

The rope is too hippy like to be a proper pikey.
The roof box is very disturbing.

one wonders why one would need an aerodynamic topbox on a narrowboat surely the wind resistance wouldn't be too much for the engine

Foggy, damp day here so very little traffic.
However, Jim's move looks a bit disconcerting - especially as someone seems to have stencilled the word "kindness" into the retaining wall for some reason.
Take care

We had a very pleasant cruise but just from the Plough, Huddlesford, up to Fradley. No other moving boats seen, despite it being quite a nice day.

They might be really strong BMs and be able to transfer the whole thing to their own vessel cabin top.
