Where's 'odd knows' in Marple ianali ? We've been in the Bell canalside. The food was good and so was the beer, but I think that's our only pub visit in Marple. We've always found it difficult to moor unless you're exceptionally lucky. Rog

A good place for a good beer and pork pie if lucky! Kisses are free as well Iβm told. We moored opposite the crt facility. Was very quiet but not the most picturesque.

Who's lost your details Patty ?It sounds rather strange... Some drug company..its all a bit odd. They were supposed to be verifying travel vaccines Ive reported them to the Information Commission for breaking the law..Data Protection state have to be informed within 72 hours..it was at least 10 days before I got the phone call.. I wonder if its about to go public.. Im not the only one but they won't admit as to how many yet. I'm doing all I can to ensure they squirm and get their knuckles rapped. Time these big companies looked after peoples data better I hate the thought that someone has all my ID ..medical son says the NHS number is the most concern....

We got back to Overwater today after a cracking couple of weeks. We loved the Anderton lift & the parts of the Weaver we could do til' the very badly broken lock is sorted out.Northwich was a fab town & the Vale Royal moorings were pure magic. We also visited the Salt Museum on the Trent & Mersey canal, with a very nice lunch at the Salt Barge pub opposite.Today,I was not happy.π‘There are 2 locks at Hack Green very close to each other. Both locks opened at the same time,so expected to do a swap.I came out of the lock & suddenly realised the gates in front of me were closing.Antipodean peeps on the hire boat coming towards me said another boat was right behind them so the lock was their lock & they'd tried to explain that to my husband!I told them exactly how I felt & P had done the same.Came into the side & waited. When the lock opened again,2 folk with windlasses tried to explain that they couldn't see us.I was not polite...I explained that they needed to check for boats coming towards them by standing on the bridge or the slope to look.Boat number 1 was the worst culprit but boat number 2 should have looked.I know it's not life threatening but it wastes a lot of water & encourages bad boating.Plus,I am a bad tempered πwhen this happens ! Know what you mean - I HATE that.... so unnecessary, so wasteful. Amazingly, I, too, am at Hack Green tonight - decent run up the locks (thank you to the lovely woman from the boat behind who closed both gates) despite the Cheshire Cat virgins who couldn't comprehend I had to go back for my own boat myself after helping them but then, very kindly, stayed to shut the bottom gate for me. Moored up and settling down to dinner - just encountered a very, very obnoxious man who tried to give me every finger he could find when I asked him to slow down as I was slopping up my dinner everywhere. Walked back to the bridge where I thought he was break dancing - no, just a nasty old man trying to stick even more fingers up at me. Came back to find another moored behind me - flies open and pissing up the information post! Must be the area!! Perhaps we should "name and shame" them? Hope you had a good trip - but mostly that Barney had a good time! Met x

When Yury Gagarin took his famous flight and became the first man to fly into space, he inadvertently inaugurated a strange and unique good luck tradition in the Russian space program. The suit-up had taken so long that after being bussed out to the launch pad, he realized that he had to urinate. Without a second thought, he turned and urinated against the bus tire. Since that time, thinking it a good luck charm, every cosmonaut would follow suit, urinating on the bus tire before boarding the spacecraft. Even Tereshkova, the first woman in space, squatted down. This remains an unbroken tradition in the Russian space program that continues to this day.

Not a problem with pissing up posts, tyres (or even tired American ones) but β¦ a) I was preparing my dinner and b) the other a****hole was gesticulating wildly and c) I think indecent exposure it is still technically an offence and d) if that was a technical offence he should have just kept to his side of the post β¦. it really WASN'T worth it β¦. Just sayin' (in the immortal words of the man with no canine). Happy weekend all x eta - not a dig at the male of the species per se, Mr S - just how the older generation are forever thinking they behave so much better.... I, too, can (and have) squat, swear and gesticulate (when the time and or place is appropriate) but I was shocked that neither of the "gentlemen" exhibited acceptable behaviour from where I stand/was dragged up - in fact, they were very rude and disrespectful (politeness costs nothing - but I'm glad I'm old) x

If u have to go u have to go...but whats wrong with finding secluded spot?.. I often have to pee outside..lack of public loos make it necessary as I wander miles and not letting my bladder needs stop me roaming. However I pick places where its not in view of others.

Consideration for others sometimes seems to be a disappearing trait. We all pee ... we can all swear ... is it too much to consider when and where both actions are appropriate? In the whole scheme of things I suppose it doesn't matter. Don't let others inconsiderate behaviour spoil your day Just saying. Rog
