It seems to be working in Jerusalem...and Luton most of the time. Surely the only threat to multiculturism is a minority of people (in any culture) who donβt want to integrate because they are so cock sure their way is right and any other way is wrong. This is of course our beef with most forms of extremism. I think most things that different cultures bring to the party are harmless. Itβs when a culture, belief, or view is shoved in our faces where we get angry. That I do understand. I know luton pretty well, and my experience has been that over the years the place has divided into areas. Some of these areas are no go areas for certain cultures. You can deny that as much as you so please, but I know differently.Β I think βno goβ areas is subjective. I certainly feel uneasy when I walk through Bury Park for example but that may be my problem

Similar problems in the US. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-47876650Fulham FC fan in California sues over 'racist' number plate row. Bloke banned from having plate COY W (come on you whites). This expression refers to the colour of the players' shirts. Someone thinks it is racist. Oh dear. Are the All Blacks racist? Phil

Perhaps the 'final solution' to this is to ban the words white and black completely, and replace them with brand new ones. Someone has to invent the new words so let's start it here: You no longer request a 'black coffee'from your local greasy spoon, it's 'belim coffee'. And when you ask the doddering sales assistant at B&Q where they keep the 'white paint' it's now 'penta paint' Got that?
Due consideration should also be given to banning 'brown' and 'yellow', as these can also cause offence. I've invented enough words for today though.
I'm fully aware that, in the fullness of time, the words 'belim' and 'penta' will start to cause offence. Should this be the case we've got it covered, simply revert to 'black' and 'white' until those again become racist. The choice then is to revert back to 'belim' and 'penta' (cos folk will have forgotten that they are racist) or invent some more new words.
This will be actions brought about by progressive thinking so everybody should take it on board, without question.

Isn't it easier to just use the term "non specific" ?
I'd like a non-specific coffee please.
Do you stock non-specific paint?
Use this in all interaction which may involve potentially abusive words. Either that or just miss it out. "I would like some coffee please".
It is then up to the customer services rep / other person to decide on their choice of language when clarifying what you require while you neatly sidestep being offensive.
They will know if you ask "Do you stock non specific paint" that you mean either black or white or brown or yellow so it won't take long to get it sorted out.
Is that too simple?

Sounds like a plan. We should all start this, from today. Failure to do so will result in you being branded a bigot. You have been warned.
If you're old and bewildered by all this please don't worry. The 'progressives' have this in hand, they know you're going to die soon.

Ah - her name is Victoria Princewill (really? as in Prince William?): "Victoria Princewill (Manchester, 1990) is a British-born management consultant-turned-writer. Educated at Oxford and UCL, with a BA in English and MA in Philosophy, her work on race and contemporary culture has been published by the BBC, the Guardian, the Independent, the London Review of Books and n+1 magazine. She co-founded a TEDx* series whilst a student, and in her spare time she attends philosophy salons." *what's TEDx? This? storyterrace.com/en-GB/victoria-princewill/Victoria says: "Black people are not here for other peoples' entertainment" I'm sure these actors would disagree with you, Vicky: Sorry, just had to listen to her ever-so-fake accent one more time - or is it real? And at the end she says: "What do you think?" and then disables comments!
