Pump out either at Litherland Crt which was working yesterday or you can cruise across docks here and use the marina one. I asked the lock keeper about timings for entering the top lock. He said that anyone arriving before 4pm would be let through. However, he added that its best not to be later than half two, bridge clearance can get a little tight further down apparently after this. We moored just before bridge ten the night before. Cast off at 8.30 in the morning and was at Stanley top lock for 1.30 pm. This included stopping for best part of an hour at Litherland for shopping at Tesco’s. Water and pump out is available here. Bridge 10 is a nice mooring. Pub ten minutes walk away. Thanks. We’ll see how it goes!

On schedule so far. Pomona lock booked for Friday morning. They will only do 8am which is a bummer as I’m not good at early mornings.£60 for the trip both ways has been paid (ouch, but probably once in a lifetime). Flower tubs coming on so I’ve ordered some twinkly lights to daub over them - gotta look good in Salford and Liverpool! Lights via Amazon Prime to a locker at the Quays.

Moored up in Adlington having come up the Wigan flight this morning. Had a great night out in Wigan centre last night. Was quiet mooring in the centre as well. Now need to decide which pub or pubs to visit here.

Bit squeaky in Castlefields, a boat passed opposite direction saying “no moorings in Castlefields”. This was around 2 pm. It does seem rather full of boats that look like they don’t move much. Whatever happened to Sonny’s purge? There is a Kylie concert here tonight which might explain it I suppose.
Anyway having nearly given up, Jeff spotted a “welcome moor alongside” sticker, so that’s what we did. Host boat remains unoccupied for the time being so here’s hoping we don’t get evicted.
Up early tomorrow to be locked down onto the Irwell/Salford Quays at 8am.
