No licence displayed = breaking terms & conditions = unlicenced or piss taker (= twat). Have you ever thought of applying for a role in CRT’s enforcement team? Yes. Could be fun.

Talking of sabotage, this is how Deutsche Bahn (the German state) are fucking up this country:
"The pre-strike cancellations have kicked in. Worst one so far is the 1525 from Plymouth is cancelled, so passengers are to travel on the 1600 GWR service from Plymouth to Exeter St Davids, changing for the 1824 CrossCountry service from Exeter St Davids to Manchester Piccadilly. Passengers should change at Birmingham New Street for the 2156 CrossCountry service to Leeds. Upon arrival at Leeds, please board the 0042 TransPennine Express service to York arriving at 0108 instead of 2147, a mere 201 minutes late!!!! You'd think they'd at least hold the 2103 to Leeds at Birmingham if the train from Exeter is late!
Why they couldn't arrange acceptance via London I don't know as passengers would've arrived at 2255. Or maybe held the 1845 from Reading for 10 minutes for a 2246 arrival. Total lack of customer care from XC."

probably by applying the laws of probability. Nah, naughtyfox 's outpourings are the product of an Infinite Improbability Drive. Douglas Adams could never have written far out nonsense to rival Foxy, his Four part Trilogy looks like the work of a sane and methodical mind when compared to Foxys random output generator.

With a few empty pounds and the restrictions over croften. Our summer trip is in jeopardy i booked two weeks sonwe cam get to reading and back but other things got in the way.
We are leaving wed/thurs hopefully but can only go over croften tues and thursday.
And with empty pounds the other side. What's the point. So it looks like yet another trip to bath.
I might convince Sam to go down the flight and spend some time in the river.
I am really starting to hate this canal.
Going west just means we will struggle to moor.
If it is malicious someone will be getting lynched.

I just want to go boating. Frozen in the winter and dry in the summer. I really need to convince the in laws to move it somewhere else.

Just picking up on one of your points though, we did the KandA a couple of years ago and despite the rumours, we didn’t have any issues with mooring on the western side of KandA. There weren’t row upon row of CMers clogging things up.

Now we are, at last!, on the K&A, and we will see what we make of it. I haven't seen CRT stoppages (on their notices pages) between Reading - Newbury. Only that Aldermaston service station is closed because of... err... something or other.

Hmm... CRT Stoppages say that 'Wales and the South West' is closed.
And the reason is 'information'.
How peculiar!

I think it’s becoming increasingly important that we all record evidence of any issue which may restrict boating. Jenlyn has posted a few pictures here of the poor state of locks on the South Grand Union. Most of us have cameras on our mobile phones so it only takes a few seconds. Make sure we have the time and date recorded too. For example, I took a video of Chris struggling with a paddle the other day. I usually take over in a situation like that, but the point is that many people who want to cruise around the country aren’t superhuman like some of us. At some point we will need evidence to show why the navigation is gradually becoming unnavigable due to the increasing number of restrictions and failures to the infrastructure. Of course it’s also important to report issues to CRT when we find them so they have a chance to fix them.

Yes I agree other photos posted by Jenlyn show reality but posting fake photos to try to get support in my opinion (and yes I know Jenlyn thinks my opinion counts for nothing) detracts from the purpose.

The trouble is that there is also an opinion that ‘some people’ are faking how good the infrastructure is...

The trouble is that there is also an opinion that ‘some people’ are faking how good the infrastructure is... Two wrongs don't make it rite........... Of course not. Photos and videos are easily faked, as is the written word. The only real way to assess the true current state of the infrastructure is to get out there and see it for yourself....while we still can. There is definitely less boat movement these days and I can only put that down to the increasing number of restrictive notices/signs and failing infrastructure. Yet boat sales are still doing well. The issues are regional too, so whilst one area might seem well maintained, it isn’t indicative of the whole system.

We've already passed loads of unlicenced boats on the K&A. Excuse me, CRT, can you tell us why we are buying a licence? It seems you are doing very little to nothing about these parasites. Get a life. I don't display a license because I don't have a printer. The CRT license checker is perfectly happy 26 times per year. Why don't you bugger off to CWDF where you'd fit in with the other narrow minded brainless idiots.
