My funniest angler moment was April 2009 helping a friend move his narrow beam barge style vessel. Quite a deep boat but narrow.
We were approaching an angler and Steve shouted ahead politely "I will take your line". The angler said "no its OK" and shook his head.
Warning was repeated and angler shook his head and did not move his line. He obviously thought it was okay.
The boat picked up the line at the bows and the angler started running down the towpath to avoid losing his tackle.
Hilarious at the time given the two warnings.

Actually I have no problem with low humming noises anyway ... just sends me to sleep ... We'll fill your boat with bees.

We were in Wakefield last Summer 2018, and Summer 2017. It is interesting to note that most Thunderboaters have gone North this Summer whilst we have gone South to mingle with the unlicenced hippies and thieving-murdering travellers of the K&A.

Just came up Stanley Ferry at 4mph, its deep and wide, my boat draws .5 mtr. So only ripples were reaching the bank, boats were hardly mooring, still got a shout, "should be at tickover". Nonsense. Then went by 10 fishists on the river, 3/4 way across the river to give them room, one still had a whinge. What is it with Yorkshiremen? Yorkshire men can recognise a clown when they see one Rog You can always tell a Yorkshire man, but not very much!

Why, thank you sir! Are you "local"? Currently having a coffee at the Hepworth, in our favourite seat. Daughter has come to visit, so instead of getting train home tomorrow, we get a lift home today, got a bit of work at weekend, garden fruit and veg to pick, back as soon as we can next week. Boat is at Fall Ing. We may well the head towards Sheffield, to inspect Torchy the Battery Boy's Boat on the way. What's the craic with that peterboat ? Look forward to seeing you Jim just dont moan to me about how brilliantly Boris is doing! he has wiped the floor with the remainers with that trick hasnt he? Only 2 boats at Fall ING this afternoon when we came through. Which was yours,?

There were some moored round the bend, including the funny grp barge, when we walked back from the Hepworth this afternoon.

He just lies and cheats his way through life and some find this to be acceptable. Of course many politicians do this. Boris though is so brazen about it, that I suspect he will get his comeuppance at some stage.

Still, he's got the Remoaners in a tizz-wozz, bit of a laugh there. Cripes!

The real irritation is that in three years NONE of them have achieved anything ... no consensus sought ... no attempt to identify a way forward ... merely 'politicking' in its crudest and most selfish form. It's extremely difficult for the ordinary man to discern who is the most contemptible. But it has to be accepted that the blonde bombshell has brought the issue 'to a head' and for that single act I for one am grateful ... albeit his motivations are undoubtedly suspect Rog

I am not fussed whether we stay or leave, I’d just like it finished with. I can’t see what good will come of leaving, then again I don’t expect much difference if we leave. All just a game to those in power I believe. The UKs problems aren’t caused by the Eu, so leaving will solve nothing.
