I get the feeling that Mr Haywood is going to have a busy day tomorrow.

MR H will probably have a sleepless night while he tries to think of an excuse, like er uhm the throttle got stuck or the current carried him on. As has been said TOSSER.

Could he go down in history as the person who (very very nearly) united opinion across Thunderboat and Canalworld?
Steve for PM?...
Anyone?...

I wait for the info to filter here or shall I go? ponders.... After I stopped posting on CW I used to pop back to see what was happening there. Nothing ever changed, same old experts shouting down any views they disagreed with. Not been back for ages but bet itβs the same. MTB and Fincher etc know everything about everything... As for Haywood, I imagine he will just carry on regardless. After all, how many people are on TB and/or CW? A hundred maybe regular contributors? How many inland boat owners? 50,000 maybe? Plus hirers... we are a very small minority here, as lovely as we areπ.

I suspect he knows he behaved badly.
I rather suspect we've all responded in a way we regretted afterwards at some point, but were fortunate enough not to be filmed.
He was a little rude, and very silly ... not sure the humiliation and ridicule is proportionate.

I did a similar lose the plot thing years ago but no one was filming. Shopping trolleys make great ramming machines!

I suspect none of us can, hand on heart say we've NEVER looked back and thought 'I over reacted'... just part of life I know thunderboat members are all fine, upstanding, pure and honest denizens of all that is good and wholesome (except naughtyfox of course) but I'm certain we will have had our moments. Maybe a bit of 'slack cutting' would be fair. Rog

Yeah, but, it's always a bit of fun when someone lectures others on behaviour then gets caught breaking all their own rules.
There was a similar one in the VW air cooled world recently where a lecturing holier than thou type who makes his living travelling around the US charging aye watering prices to show people how to maintain their vehicles got caught out stealing ice cream and cheese crackers from a service station. It turns out he was a serial petty thief. You tube videos show him in a very bad light and he's ruined his $60k a year business - you wouldn't want him nicking stuff while you made him a coffee. Before the internet age nobody would have known but he's been shamed into making reparations to at least some of his victims and turning himself in to the police.

He was a little rude, and very silly ... not sure the humiliation and ridicule is proportionate. Rog That may indeed be true. However I have never deliberately rammed anything or anybody with a car, boat or anything else for that matter. He may have been peed off at losing that space, a 'frank exchange of views' may indeed have been more proportionate. His reaction was well out of order and way disproportionate. EDIT - and lets not forget he also attempted to massage the truth about what happened by appearing to make a very nonsensical statement about it on Facebook. If this was a rash occurrence and one which he regretted I don't believe he would have done that, he would not mentioned it and hoped the film wouldn't surface.
