Going for my paper this morning I crossed the road and at the other side I caught my toe on a irregular dropped kerb and ended up face planting. Broke my glasses, cut my finger and suffered very bad bruising to my face and wrists. That in itself shook me up but what I saw next was rather disturbing. A car stoppped and the driver sat looking at me and then drove off, a second car did likewise as I sat on the ground gathering myself (and the remnants of my specs) as I got to my feet the driver just left . Not even a quick wind down of a window with a call of 'are you OK" Tsk Tsk Phil

Take it you're home now phil70 ? Take it easy ... it's amazing how 'shaken up' these falls can make you feel ... Jane was quite bruised and achy for several days. Rog

Then again Phil could have posted this info on mumsnet...
ETA.
Nothing wrong with Phil posting his message but TB allows (hopefully) for some banter in return - otherwise the 'fun' goes out of the forum.

Last time I 'face planted'-I broke both wrists ! I certainly wasn't laughing.Hope Phil is okay as this sort of thing really shakes you up. *Tripped over one of the cats when he shot out of the spare bedroom.Wrists took the brunt of the fall-down not just to the floor, but to the landing another step down.

I do hope that the World settles and Good Samaritans once again are on hand to assist.

Well thank you all for your good wishes. The bruising is developing nicely but I shall survive, it's amazing how quickly everything sort of locks down (cos it hurts) I'm under orders to go out with my magic walking stick, dammit it's like I'm admitting that I'm gettung old (74)

You can use the walking stick to keep people social distancing from you, especially if it is a new fangled extendable one - just use it to poke people who come to close in the ribs!

It's very upsetting that people would ignore an old git clearly in distress.
I hope things improve.
