Took this today. The tree at the end of the video blocking the towpath has been down since Thursday. I reported it to 2 bankside staff who were working above the lock a few hundred yards around the corner.
They stated they were aware, and had phoned it in, but were told to leave it to contractors.
As you can see in the video, some of the trees are overhanging the canal by 10-15ft. These are fully laden with leaves, and it is little wonder that a drop of rain and a gust of wind topples them.
Once back to the boat, I also reported it, and was told they had not received any reports and would need at least two more before attending???
It is still there today, Sunday.
It seems to me, CRT thinks it can manage and run the canals with computers set up on their kitchen tables at home.
None of them have been into their office evidently for 7 months.
Whilst they have over 1300 office staff sat at home spending their days wandering around the internet telling us how good they are at their jobs, It's blindingly obvious to their bankside staff and us that they are f$%X*!X crap.
I've emailed this to Richard Parry, asking if he would like to comment (but not make excuses). I also tried to copy in Alan Leighton (our invisible chairman), but I have a sneaky feeling he's still holed up on his yacht somewhere in the med trying to avoid covid 19.

The tree at the end.... bowsaw and away with it. All the firewood that you can get from it is yours, I'm sure CRT won't mind you having it. That's 7 minutes and 43 seconds of my life I won't get back.

Every snowflake is different. There are no two the same. Isn't that an amazing thing considering how many there are.

Obviously a lot of things are a complete waste of time and don't ask me how I know this but I am very intrigued as to how you would "get the time back". It seems to be quite a clever thing to be able to do. Is it a DeLorean thing. The stainless steel cars. Maybe that's it.

We all have moments where whatever we've done could be seen as wasted, but you don't know till you've bin there that it is. So best to see it as an education on what not to do and just move on...

By staying up longer before going to bed of an evening, or getting up earlier in mornings. I sometimes like to be up at 5am on a free day and get on with paperwork or something whilst all in the house/boat is quiet and not even a mouse stirs. Also by avoiding any more of Bedruthan's nonsensical videos.
