Just thought I'd start this to add to the general boaty theme. Photos of your boat. Here's mine, Desiree. She's quite old, 30 years old this year. I bought her 18 months ago from Aqueduct Marina. We were on a narrowboat holiday, we pulled into Aqueduct Marina for a spot of lunch and less than an hour we motored out having put down a deposit on her. She's a 42' Peter Nicholls trad with a BMC 1.5 engine. She was originally built for Malcolm Rhodes, who fitted out narrowboats for a living, Desiree is his wife's name. The fit-out is absolutely beautiful, mostly done using iroko wood (African teak). So far we've been to Llangollen and the end of the Mont via the Four Counties Ring, done the Warwickshire Ring, numerous other 2-3 day cruises from our mooring at Stretton Stop, and we're doing the Ashby canal and the Leicester Ring this year. When we bought her, she had 2,468 hours on the engine hours meter, now she has over 3,000. We love her to pieces!

Ormelite ES 1960's Fibreglass canal cruiser by mudlarker2, on Flickr
This is my narrow beam yoghurt pot a 25'6" Ormelite cruiser. In my personal opinion just about the best designed small cruiser ever. 4 berth, 2 in the fwd cabin and the two dinettes aft, convert into two more bunks, 2 cyl diesel engine built in under the kitchen sink . travelled several hundred miles in her ....River Trent, Fosdyke, Chesterfield, S&SY, A&C, L&L, Bridgewater, Weaver, T&M, Soar, GU and Tidal Thames. Now looking forward to covering the Gt Ouse and the Middle Levels.

Wow, three really different boats, all beautiful. Hoping to see a few more pics of other members's boats, we are boat mad! In fact, I think you have to be a bit mad to even consider buying a boat, there is just no logic to it!

Nice balanced looking design. A "plump" boat as opposed to an obese boat Looks good

I'm starting to feel awed by all this shiny paintwork !!! Thats how its hard to be continually labelled as filthy, something for nothing, continuous moorers, we are all different and that difference should be encouraged and celebrated, some have money, some have little but we all have a shared love of the water and its sad what we all have in common is not highlighted enough and built upon.
