It took 2 days to clear the stuff off my boat. I had no idea a 35ft boat could hold so much stuff. Trying to find space for boxes and still have somewhere to sit and sleep was A challenge. Put the boat on the brokerage at Midway, looks ok on their online add. My mate picked me up and everything else, including my motorbike, we headed off to Barmouth on Sunday morning. It started raining just as we got here. We then had to do 10 trips up and down the hill during a deluge. I remember being stuck on a ship in Indonesia in high humidity as the crew used lump hammers to try to free the stuck roll on roll off doors with hundreds of other people pushing while the trucks revved up their engines and thought I'd never experience anything so uncomfortable again but this ran it close.
Anyway. Two days on, slowly emptying boxes, the place is starting to feel like home. No apparent leaks, no damp, not bad for a 200 year old house. Boiler seems to lose pressure but there was bound to be something. The views over the Mawddach estuary and Caeder Idris just amazing. I'm not missing the boat at all. For now.

Put the boat on the brokerage at Midway, looks ok on their online add. Good luck with the sale, it's a nice little boat for a single boater.

Yea good luck with the new house. It will seem odd at first, that it doesnβt move when you move around. Well if it does, it means EARTHQUAKE! Hide under the table!

I paid 18,000 for mine as well, 7 years ago. To be fair though I've spent a fair bit improving it.
A few days on all is well. So quiet, no droning diesel engines running for hours, loving that. So much more room to do everything, feels very nice. Couple of issues cropped up. There's been some water ingress where the extension meets the main house. Probably a flashing needing repair, easy access here, can probably fix it myself. Soffits and fascias in poor condition with some rot. Bigger job this, ladder access seems unlikely so it might be a scaffolding job. Not urgent though.
