So gentle reader - following on from the Arthur Marshal thread and the evidence that I have indeed been watching paint dry. Today has been spent painting 13 windowsills, what’s that got to do with COVID 19 you ask? Well, 3 people at my work seem to be the root of an outbreak. Despite best efforts and pretty good protocols several of us got caught up in it. I had a drive through test Tuesday at 11am expecting a negative result as I hadn’t had anything to do with those concerned and had zero symptoms. Mrs Gazza’s rapid test kits were and still are giving her a negative - not that it makes any difference as we are now all holed up together until a week on Saturday. Wednesday morning at 07:40 email and text to say I’m positive and half to isolate for 10 days. Bugger! Initially I was sceptical so cracked on farting about around the house to keep myself out of mischief and have a break from home schooling. Still no symptoms up to lights out last night. Today I got the tin of white gloss out as can be seen from above, now after all that waffle what has the paint pot got to do with COVID bar for being a prisoner in my own home? Well, my first symptoms came out! I can’t smell the damn stuff - a tin of proper oil based non drip not that wishy washy water based shite either!, nor could I smell the 3M Thinners No1 I used to degrease it all after sanding - that stuff is usually guaranteed to get you high as a kite! The girls have been complaining about the smell of paint, I told them not to worry, everywhere the queen goes smells like that so they should feel privileged I am treating them like royalty! Quick in ear temp check and I’m at 37.7c but feel fine. So, there we have it, I’m either going to be all caught up by the end of next week desperate to get back to work or my lasting legacy will be some rather tidily painted windowsills and an irritated bloke with a bearded, duff specs and a faulty memory!

Oh that does sound worrying. Most likely you will be fine being just a young stripling. But do take care! Remember to drink plenty of bleach, swallow a light bulb and you should be fine.

That's a bit crap for you Gazza. I hope you'll all be fine. Seems, at least from the UCL study that the majority don't have symptoms, so fingers crossed eh? My potential son in law tested positive a few weeks back, but my daughter tested negative (strange as they live together!). He did have a high temperature, but that was all, no chest issues or change of smell. Chris and I are hoping that we are well isolated living in a giant coffin.

Luckily, having spent 30 years eating in UK transport cafés and at lay-by snack wagons I have built up a strong natural immunity to most things, including Coronavirus. I will bet anybody on here any money they care to lose that I will never get it.

Oh not good, hope its only mild and doesn't go long. Now what else can you do round the house Thanks - the list is getting very short now! Wednesday I painted the understairs cupboard - Mrs G said during lockdown 1 that I was finding new ways of avoiding her without leaving the house, hiding under the stairs is taking it to a whole new level!

Mrs G is a bit twitchy what with all she has dealt with but so far so good 👍
