Isn't there something going on when someone brings the Nazis into a discussion? Godwin's law or something. Yes. According to Godwin I lost the argument.
God wins again..............

That is the trouble today though - I know there is the occasional employee in ANY organization - be it police, doctors surgery, council office, crt or whatever that thinks they have "power" and behaves like a twat with it but I maintain, if a policeman asks you your name, there is no reason not to give it - whether you HAVE to or not... it USED to be called respect for their occupation. This same kid would be quick enough to GIVE them his name if he was phoning for help cause he'd been jumped on by a gang of thugs or whatever... works both ways. I think his beef was that there were quite a few others around but they picked on him.Why did they need his details when they ignored other folk ?This is unusual for me,but I think he has the right to be cheesed off as it does come across that he looked/dressed wrongly.

Get over it he is the PM of the UK Scotland is a small part of the UK, so if the PM of the UK has work to do in Scotland he can go there, just like Scottish MPs go to Westminster after all that is the Parliament that runs the UK that Scotland forms a small part of The point is that visiting a vaccine centre to 'meet and greet' is not work in my book, anyone can make up 'reasons' aka excuses. If he wants to thank someone for doing their job, just have another broadcast from Downing Street. Or send them a letter. "Thanks to the NHS, the scientists, the amazon delivery drivers, the folks who are not going out to work spreading the disease" Oh wait a minute, has he not already done that., the only person who has not got the Stay at Home message is him. I am waiting for a response to my complaint, they obviously did not take it seriously enough The point is also hypocrisy. London is full of Scottish SNP MPs who swan up and down between Westminster and Scotland without so much as a bye you leave. But that is OK because they support independence.

To Foxy.
You think not giving your name is ok to the police.
Except whenever there is a newsworthy incident that you are 'interested' in, you want names and photo published...
I do. If you've done nothing wrong why do they need it? I will always pass the attitude test but sometimes I will stand up for my rights.

Surely the way he reacted rather than responded to their question is what caused the conflict though? - it's no worse than being singled out when going through customs in an airport (remember those- they were places we had to endure feeling like a criminal just to get our budgie smugglers on for a week and sit in the sun by a pool sipping tequila )... I have one of those guilty looking faces that always gets dragged to one side and either has my case gone through or interrogated (mainly in the usa) by what I feel is a rude scary bloke... just doing the job he's been told to do. In those circumstances, I find it less stressful to be polite - perhaps even humble /subservient as He/she's got a job to do and the nicer I am, the easier it is for everyone. I DON'T get a chip on my shoulder and do the whole " WHY ME" thing. Perhaps HE was just having a bad day too and that made it worse for everyone... the constant "jury by phone/media" must be very wearying on anyone who is trying to be the best they can (be it officer or member of the public) ... no one is ever given the freedom to have HAD a bad day... or made a bad call (no one is infallible after all) - instead, things get blown up and the good guys made out to be the bad guys, just to fill some column space. BTW - I know I quoted Trina here, but that's just cause you were last in my list... I'm not ranting or disagreeing with you personally, just following on from Ross's (multiple) points . - it's the firsts time I've picked up my lap top since yesterday.

Ive just opened up my laptop from yesterday morning.. Can't read all that Foxy spouts..just scrolled straight past .. suspect that'll mean I won't have much to say on any thread that he's over run with his cut n paste, anti social drivel. I'm always polite to the police though I did lose it once when un marked car suddenly put flashing lights on and sped through pedestrianised area nearly hitting my kids. I shouted..they swerved to a stop and ask me my problem..told them I didn't have one but they did driving like that with kids about. One of my sons in his teen years had an attitude towards the police and it got us in quite a lot of bother.. Another son was super super polite and the police woman concluded that because he was so well mannered and polite the school must have misjudged the incident..She told me she had never interviewed such a pleasant individual...he managed to turn the chat to talking about her dogs. He was at fault but got away with it just because of his manner. He's nearly always used that tactic to get out of trouble.

When a celebrity visits anywhere it reduces productivity, and increases policing costs, it's waste of scarce resources. I am not interested in party politics, I know full well how the Lords and The Commons make full use of their priviledges, at the taxpayers expense. Its his job, If you think he went up there for what we saw on TV i suspect you are naive, I think he went up there to tell the wee fish to pull her finger out with the vaccine rollout!

I do. If you've done nothing wrong why do they need it? I will always pass the attitude test but sometimes I will stand up for my rights. If politicians are "doing nothing wrong" why can't we have cameras in every room of their houses and offices at Westminster/Holyrood? "sometimes I will stand up for my rights." - to break in and enter private properties? I don't get your first point. And secondly I don't break-in anywhere, hence I Why I don't get arrested.
