Me again, always a question from some folk hey!
So, my solar's not working now, looking for someone that can come and re set the parametres on my epever MTTP controller. Since having new batteries it thinks I don't need solar. The warning light comes on Batt. OVD. Think this is a safety mechanism that switches the unit off when the batteries are full. We did think if I ran the batteries down a little it would realise I need the solar to kick in, but no. Looks like I need someone with the leads and software to run a diagnostics, or someone that can workout or knows what parameteres need changing on it. This is all a bit beyond me.
Can anyone recommend a person for the job? I'm at Weston on Trent, Derbys. Thanks. T.

Have you tried resetting it? It’s usually quite simple.

Yes, Kris, ran a factory reset. I know it was pretty simple to install, plug in and go really. But this time I think the parameteres need re setting and inputting manually.

When you put the new batteries in did you disconnect the solar panels from the controller first?

Tested everything and it all seems to be working, just won't re register that solar can now draw. Some of the settings on it are definately not right. So for example, the equilizer time and boost time are both set at 200 and likely need to be different.

It's not acknowledging that I need to start work again and draw amps from the solar panels.

If your Epever MPPT controller is anything like mine, a PC and a suitable program is not the only way. Their own control/metering/monitoring panel is a cheap and useful little unit that costs around the £25 mark. Mine is permanently installed and it allows you to adjust virtually every parameter. customising the levels totally is fairly brain twisting but using factory presets isn't.
As I said, mine is permanently installed so it is not "loanable"

Sounds like £25 is a very cheap and permanent solution to your problem. I trust John and suggest that you give it a go. In the very unlikely event that John is wrong it will only put you in the same position as you are now in ie in need of a PV savvy bod but you will have the necessary kit to fully assist Phil

Think I have the controller you are referring to already John.V; it's a bod that can set the perametres on this that I need.

I have the 60 Amp version of this the picture also shows the monito module (I checked the price and it is slightly more than I said but is still under £30)
the manual for the monitoring unit gives instructions to alter almost every parameter ..... the instructions are mind numbingly complex but simple steps are picking basic formats for different style batteries. If you have this monitor module, I would try just a basic reset to factory settings for specific battery type different from the one you have at present. if that clears the problem then reset to the correct battery type.

Thanks JohnV, yes v similar set up to mine this. Have done a factory reset, but think I'll try this again, also tried inputting manually but got a bit stuck at the stage where we needed more battery info. Think I might have a techy coming Monday fingers crossed.
Thanks all. T.
