Ow do all. Faffer is back on it. motivated myself to crack on. Drooped to 3 day week as struggling at work so at home i can do a si please and chill time swhen i want soooo I checked over the drives, should of done this ages ago as thye would of been the decider on how the running goes. And my thanks for the seller not bull hitting me on this one they are good upto now. Knocked up a drive stand to make life easier One drive had real black oil in it. prop shaft was clean and from any signs of stuff wrapped up. the black oil in the tub is from the other drive, shows a big difference towards this one. All feels good, UJ is good, no prop play. prop hub is fine and as said al changes gears well : Thats a good few £k saved i hope ha ha gear change is good, one is a little slower than the other, the one that had black oil is quicker but then these drives are best tested with an engine stuck on and running. i havnt turned them a whole lot as i belive that can damage the clutch. As there is little more i can do to them but for cleaning and refiling with oil i cracked on with the windows, no pun intended there lol. Hate doing windows I am thinking on using a different method to reseal these. i have cleaned them back, well two of the 12 if you include the flybridge windows. I usually use the rubber U channel and felt runner seals but this time i am thinking on just using either a High Modulus sealant adhesive or a Low Modulus one. OR Butyl that i use to fit the frames into the boat. Gun grade here though not strip. I love the Puraflex 40 as its as good as the Sikaflex 291i and half the price and has been great over the years. I know it will be a pain in the **** to remove the glass from the frame in the future , but that should only have to happen if the window gets broken, in over 30 years i have never had a broken window on a boat. So maybe no reason not to use HM sealant. i say this as i have a load of Puraflex 40 here. I have the Butyl aswell but i dont like the idea of that alone a st doesnt set very much. Then though its great for sealing in the frames to the boat. Decisions decisions hey ha ha OMH to think 10 windows to go AAARRRRrrrrrrrr

Well got them three windows sin and looking good. But sod the windows for now as after a lot of messing faffing like i do, should i go diesel stick and rebuild these engines etc etc, i got a runner with a load of spares to help rebuild on eof the other engines i have. Cant be having 100hp when these boats are built for twice that After messing about for ages to get it running and forgetting to give feed to the coil DUH i got it running but it just fires up to full revs. Oh sod it, video, messed with the video a bit but engine running at 18m18secs. Nd this weekend cracked on a bit more. As engine is running i have got on rebuilding the other carburettors. And as i cant make an ultrasonic cleaner i bought one. Just the biggest i cold afford so it can fit the carb`s in it and other stuff aswell. It does a good job but not as good as i expected. I tried the carburettor solution that came with it and also a white vinegar solution which i wont be dong again, the whole house stunk of vinegar for a day or so. Last solution i just used hot water and a good squirt of washing liquid. Before After a good blast in the cleaner. I was going to be lazy and fit it all back together now, why i ask myself after all this and for the engine still to look tatty. So i have removed all other bit, well the oil cooler and few bit and they will be cleaned up along with all coolant pipe work. What has got me wondering who has been messing with these carb`s is that one had a bolt stuck in a hole, that should of been for adjustment and this aluminum gasket for the diaphragm. Back in the day i had cars with twin SU carb`s on and for the life of me i couldnt tune them up to well. hope these are easier. I believe they are difficult but i have put them back together as they came apart and all screws have been screwed back in the same threads in. So off shopping now for VP red paint and black

I have no doubt both engines will scream like banshees when you're done. When they are running and the cabin is weathertight it's all downhill to the finish line.

Excuse the slow start as i forgot the water pump seals are gone and the water flows back on itself after i leave it for a while not run. I have two more blocks here, one is bad, the other not as good as i expected so needs a skim and rebore, bad compressions of something like 80, 120 , 100, 175 dry and wet a lot better but all to far out and shows pistons and knackered. Or i buy a rebuilt block and stick on the rest. being lazy its weasier than rebuilding one myself and cost maybe a £175 more than doing it myself. but thats nothing though towards all the faff rebuilding one.

As its not costly as i have the materials i got on with the transom. When i removed the transom plate there was a good few SS screws snapped off, so only way to fix that was to grind them back and epoxy fill them, aswell as the rest of the holes. The transom is all good, so as few suggested an owner must of had the plate fitted to save more transom damage in the future. So tapered out the hole and ground out the studs left behind. Wet out the holes then used the usual Epoxy and 407 ( i think i forget now which filler ) Easy job really and chilling out job. On the transom top gunnel where the nav light was i will be having access from the bathing deck i will be making so them holes can be filled aswell. I will be having a antislip patch here as this will be access from the swim deck i am making. sorry as usual i loose a picture of it finished but you get the idea from the other, fill and fair in. And more second time around. I am thinking an owner fitted the plate as couldnt be bothered to fettle the scratches so cover them up. This thing is coming out now. I cant see the point in it really unless you have a lot of water down blow and need to drain the bilge before towing. , never had one before on any boat but a dinghy. That will take some filling, thick transom this. Why do the designers make things so hard to get at. This rail has fairly good access for all stanchion bolts but for one base where there just isnt any without removing the rear deck. Before i remove it though i need to alter the wooden top as the corners stick out to far and will rub the canopy as you mite see here So in the end as i didnt want the rail to rub the canopy and i dont have the funds to get a Tubela pipe bender i got a crap chinese one. and it was crap, il tell more later about that. And to finish the day as tired i was sick of seeing the big gash in the side so as i had the sander out slapped on a 120g disc and went at it. And after a few minutes its fine, just a bit of primer and then paint, it feathered in right good. So rest of the hull just needs a sand to prep for new paint. And the below water line is good aswell, give it a scrub and AF it. It did go down to the GRP so a bit of high build primer will be reat. no to bad a day really

Well i am no longer in that Fury as i bought this one. Daft to say no at the price. all ready to go, MK1 aswell but little difference but for mainly the engines are aq115 as to the aq130 i ave ere for this boat. Mite keep these as there rebuilt an dfit them at a latter date. so no more project here, a little down hearted but more time to ave fun, and save thousands of pounds as the new canopy was £3k and this boat has a newish one and only about 12 months old. I already have a mooring for it on the Lancaster for winter then taking it down the Menai Straits in March next year. I will be doing a dew sea trials i hope from Galsson dock but tides are not the best from there. lts to plan anwyay but boat will be here when i get back off holiday in a few weeks. few tings i want to do, fit a cabin heater, bigger LPG locker for 6kg`s. sonar/fishfinder. and new cooker and sort for the BSS.

Nice boat. I especially like the upholstery covers.
What is top speed on these boats? I imagine in the mid 20s knots if it planes.

Top speed of this one is around 30knts with the AQ115, with the engines i have, AQ130 its 35knots. Cruising speed is 20knots. Not bad for the boat size and spec, guzzle fuel though, full belt as low as 2mpg. or say 2 1/2 gallons an hour at 10 knots for the pair
