Serious question: have you not considered moving out of London? Yes, and I have done. You'll have to ask the woman about it regarding the children! She's completely London centric no way she will ever leave. It's actually not all that bad. Not my bag but I can understand why people live there and I reckon for the kids ita going to be more interesting dodging the knives and drug dealers than it would be getting into small groups and vandalising the railway station. Nice one. I was born up in Manchester and lived much of my life in the suburbs. I visited for a night out 12 months ago. It was horrendous. Everyone seemed to be moving quickly. People seemed to be looking over their shoulders all the time. Only 2 minutes after getting off the train a pisshead was trying to provoke a fight with a pub bouncer. There were spice heads in many of the doorways. It felt very unfriendly and a bit dangerous. I get why younger people might want to live there, all the social opportunities. Especially if they have a bot of money. Homosexuals too, for the same reason. Otherwise I just don't get why anyone would want to live there, if they had the opportunity to live somewhere a little less intense. I suppose if that's all you know, you don't hanker after anywhere else.

The woman was brought up in a French provincial town (Dijon) with two Moroccan parents. Lots of racism about and general French shit. She visited London when she was 17 and decided that is where she wanted to be.
Paris first but London was the aim. She has been here since mid 00s I met her in 2009 and proceeded to execute the reproduction protocol. She is an amazing woman and I would not wish for a better mother for my children.
I don't blame her at all for wanting to live in London. The French are racist cunts at the end of the day and you can't choose your origins can you.
London while it has its faults allows you to be what you want to be. Nobody gives a shit or wants to know the details you just get on with it. One of the advantages of high population density.
I do "get it" but I like peace and quiet so it can't work for me personally.

Time for some Bernard Manning.
I really like Bernard Manning a lot.
The woman taught me a lot about racism over the years. I thought I was a racist until I met her then I saw what a real one looks like !
I love the paki living next door joke. It's so "on message" yet nobody would get away with it these days. Or would they??

Well, except to pass through on the canals en route for somewhere nicer.

Having owned a house and lived for quite a few years in Greater London (well actually Romford although my side of the road had the address Hornchurch)and spent a lot of my time working in Docklands
I can honestly say ....... I hated it.
I spent as little time as possible there, I only bought the house because I couldn't afford a dog kennel in the town I was brought up in (although Brentwood has sunk like a stone as the EastEnders have taken it over since the 50's)
I do not like cities, I do not like Urbanised areas ..... but it's getting harder and harder to find somewhere to live that isn't urban nowadays.
Beverley is (at the moment) still a nice little town but watching the huge number of houses being built, the writing is on the wall.

I love cities ... but part of the enjoyment is knowing city life is a temporary state for me.
So many choices and options within, very often, walking distance.
The anonymity of city life can be appealing, the buzz and bustle exciting, the range of options invigorating, but it all tends to pall after five or six days, and we yearn for peace, quiet, and space.

This is the thing about the mancs, they think they are so cool and fantastic, but that is only because they have never been anywhere else. Anyway, if you want sex you just have to hang out by the top lock of the 9, no need to waste money on beer and nightclub entry fees!

I had to move away in order to realise that your assessment is accurate. Not all of them of course, as we know Anyway you missed one out: have you ever met anyone more arrogant than a Manc?

Looks like Manchester is in trouble with the covid. I wonder if using a nackered Northern town as a test-bed is a deliberate strategy or are there actually a lot more Indians there?
Or should we now call them Deltas.

Or should we now call them Deltas. Relatively few Indians in Manchester. Lots of Pakistanis and Bangladeshis. If you wish to meet lots of Indians you should take a trip to Birmingham, Leicester, Derby etc. The midlands towns and cities.
