I have a brass kingfisher (admittedly with a bent beak) which Jane bought me in the mid nineties (when I was yearning for a boat) for the hefty price of Β£14.
I took it into the works garage and drilled a suitable hole in the pin for a 'd' shackle, and hung a Tradline (Braunston) tassle from it.
Used it ever since on hire boats, then share boats and finally my own.
I've seen stuff in bric-a-brac shops I've fancied making into pins, and even seen some fantastic ready made pins ... but I know I'll never change my 'gonzo style' pin now because of sentimental value.
Obviously kingfishers are common as muck as tiller pins.
Do you have something unique or unusual or of sentimental value ?

Donβt have a pin. Cruiser stern and never have need to remove the tiller. Actually dislike almost anything of brass appearance. I do like items of age/sentimental value though. My favourite onboard is Ali π

I have a golden whippet on my tiller pin. See the hole in your swan neck has been drilled at an angle like mine. Just changed to a hinged tiller and a right pain to drill the hole correctly, mine being slightly offset as well. Still, a nice snug fit now, just got to get the kingfisher chrome plated.

When I had a narrow boat I made a tiller pin from an old fire poker. It was a nice poker with iron spike and a well made brass and copper end with two copper coins let into it. Should have kept that as it would be a nice souvenir.
Worked well and looked quite nice too.
Have not had a narrow boat for 13 years now, previously had several and lived on them continuously for 14 years!
Only thing I still have related to it is a single socket windlass someone had chromed for me.
And memories and some nice photographs.

We have a brass bear tiller pin.*It doesn't get involved in bear knuckle fighting... Does it get messy boating through wooded areas?

That is not a difficult question. I think you know the answer.

We have a tiller pin that doesn't relate to an animal etc. It's just a tiller pin. Chunky though, being supplied by SMH. We bought a tiller tassle from Gilly, wife of DMR (Dave Rhodes) on the other channel (she made it) about 8 years ago. As luck would have it (bearing in mind they seem to be either on the KandA or Rochdale) we bumped into them (not literally) at Glascote last week. Fortunately still had Gilly' tassle, which we reminded her of.

I quite liked Nigel's Platypus tillerpin.
