I can’t remember whether it’s possible to wind a 58’ boat by Tooleys yard? We are a couple of days ahead of schedule so thinking we may have a night in Banbury. We can always go down the towns lock to the next winding hole if not.

I think you'll have to go down to the winding hole beyond Morrisons.
We're only 55ft and have always done so ... I'm sure if it was big enough by Tooley's I would have turned there.
Surprisingly my Nicholson's doesn't show by Tooley's as a winding hole.

No, you will not wind at Tooleys. Or Sovereign wharf.
There is the arm near the factory where there are boats moored.
Otherwise its down the tramway past the long term moorers.

Met a guy at Sutton Stop today ianali , who was bemoaning the absence of Cropredy Festival. We mentioned you were down there for the fringe festival and that by all accounts from last year, it's a good alternative. He said "It'll be rubbish". I'm sure it'll be great ... beer, sun and live music ... what's not to like. You'll have to let us know what you think please. Rog

We are really at Cropredy as a friend has a cottage there and we are doing our own thing in it. Will visit the fringe bits though as we are there. Today we got carried away in the sunshine and find we passed through Banbury, ended up at Aynho. Great western for dinner later. Cruised about 9 hours today, it’s been awesome.

Might wind later and cruise a couple of hours back to the pig place, though did spot some foes from the other channel there as we passed yesterday 😊

Never dined in the Great Western ... we did call in for beer and it's a jolly nice place. I was told that one of the couple who runs the place is a French Chef ... hence the price and better quality menu. Reading about the South Oxford makes me want to go back ... same with @tafnaa reporting from North Yorks on the L&L ... makes me want to head north. Ah well, always next year Rog

Ah well, always next year Rog Frenchman is called Rene...and yes, he can cook. Had lunch at the pig place today. Excellent sandwich and decent cider from the tap. Pretty cool place actually, and they have a music festival next weekend...may have to wind again after Cropredy weekend. Lots of places to go isn’t there Roger! All in all this is turning into a pretty good summer. Well, apart from a chicken at the piggy place that stole the top slice of my sandwich. Fast little buggers ain’t they! No wonder Rocky struggled to catch them.

Lovely spot, the Pig Place ... had their food but not yet had beers as it's always been breakfast when we've called. Have said we'll take a jetty mooring there one night to rectify the omission. Enjoy Cropredy fringe Rog
