Nepotism exists in all walks of life ... human nature to favour your family and friends.
The only difference is in the the degree of power and influence the 'giver' holds.

You are making an assumption that a Public School = a boarding school. Which isn’t the case. The public school I went to had about 10% boarders and 90% day pupils like me. I would agree that the boarders were a different breed from us - in that they were a bit odd, not that they looked down on everyone else.
I do understand the concept of parents wanting the best education for their kids and being prepared to pay for it. I don’t really understand the point of having children if you are going to pack them off to boarding school and thus barely see them between ages of 7 and 17. They are certainly not going to grow up as a reflection of their parents’ values, attitudes and ideas.

they all look like a bunch of big benders to me I think you do yourself a disservice here mate. They just all look rather weird. Had they been at my school they’d have had the shit kicked out of them I reckon. Also, what game is it they are lined up for?

I was from a pit estate in Bolton-on-Dearne, South Yorkshire and we played a similar game but called it British Bulldog ... Eton was a million miles and another life away, but young lads of all backgrounds love a bit of 'rough and tumble'. Rog

I don't know about public schools but the private school I went to was amazing wonderful and full of dickheads with rich parents.
I imagine a public school, being open to the public, would be an order of magnitude worse.
I was even encouraged to play Golf! Golf is a good walk spoiled, but I was actually quite talented and there was someone who thought I was going places.
No idea why anyone would have thought that but I suppose you do get optimists here and there.
If the topic is about independent schools in general no thanks I would not send my children to one of these shithouses for all the tea in China.

Seems like a fair exchange to me I suppose it could be viewed like that but I ...blah blah blah... values and regardless of the money situation I would never authorise placement of my children into a non state-funded school. It won't happen.

My twin daughters went to the local Maharishi Senior School, which taught them the farce-ism of religion, whilst they took advantage of the 8 pupils to one teacher ethic and achieved a fantastic education. Both turned out highly qualified, one possibly on an equal level to tellymachus (only possibly mind? ) and both, stand up pillars of the community! 👍

That was rather vomit inducing if I may say so.
Typical of a Porsche driving Barry Hawkins narrow boat owner.

I'm not entirely sure you understand the difference between a public school and a private school? In fact I'm not entirely sure I do either. Surely both are in fact open to members of the public PROVIDED their parents can pay the exhorbitant fees AND they meet some sort of entry requirement. What actually is the difference, does anyone know?
