I had a loverly green clockwork metal train.... I was so chuffed watching it run along the polished boardroom floor where my gran worked Sadly like my rag 'muffin' the mule toy it just disappeared... parents can be so cruel

Also when I lived in a house I had a model railway in the back garden. Did the track not go rusty?

No, and that's why I said that if you bought pre-owned track to build an OO gauge railway you should make sure you buy nickel silver track not steel. Not that it would have made a difference to the loco in the photo because it's live steam, not electric.
