Well,I don't give a stuff about top dogs or popularity.I come here because I like it here & feel part of a 'gang'.Like any gang there are folk I gravitate towards(in a virtual way),folk who seem a bit odd, folk who make me laugh, folk who I probably wouldn't get on with & some folk I'd never want to actually meet. That's what life is like in reality too.So saying, there are a fair few people here I'd love to share some drinkies with & hopefully I'll get the chance at some point.

I have met a number of people from here ... so when I read their posts I can imagine them speaking and think of them as friends. A lot of posters are simply words on a page I read as a form of entertainment ... a kind of computer game ... I know little or nothing about them so it's impossible to form any kind of opinion about them. Because of this there's a huge inequality in how I view posters. For example ... Mr Stabby (who I've met several times) calls me a wife beating, boat thief and it's just banter and fun ... an anonymous unknown poster does the same, and I have no way of knowing if it's jokey banter or someone taking a sneaky pop cos they've decided not to like me. Either way, the joy of thunderboat is I can choose to insult back, or simply call them a twat, or engage in discussion. You obviously view the place differently. Rog

Rog I'm not sure if you aimed that at me but let's assume you did: Again, there's nothing sinister about this. I guess the difference could be that some engage socially without thinking too much about it. Others, who take an interest in what's going on beyond the words, might think about it a little more. There's no right or wrong, it's not 'better' to think more, or to think less. As things being different if you've met someone, yes, of course. Forum interactions are a pared down version of the more usual human social contact. Hierarchies still form though, as they do with all types of human interaction. It's our nature to do this.

Sorry, yes it was directed at you.
I keep giving examples to explain why I think there isn't a hierarchy, and it seems you just keep saying "it's our nature to do this"
Please give an example of the hierarchy in action here

Rog I have met a few folk off here which I enjoyed-have to say Mr Stabby didn't wave a large knife at me which was a little disappointing... There are a quite a few peeps I'd really like to meet as I like their personas on here.

I like to think of myself as being top of the "hairarchy", not that that's difficult in a forum largely populated by gingers, slapheads and tinsel tops.

I noted that Ricco Clinton Cool used the word "he" earlier so we are not talking about a Boudicca situation. Oh dear the joke went over my head

Post #1 asks -- is there a forum hierarchy ? -- well, no, of course not, . . although there is a small number of very regular contributors -- that's 'very regular' in the sense of verbal bowel movements -- who clearly aspire to becoming founding members of one !
