These stories about peril in our food supply and food security pop up all the time.
Now that covid is in decline the media have to find some other 'shocker' to try and worry us.

When Covid was "the current thing" everything was made in China. Now Russian war is the thing apparently everything is made in Ukraine although to be honest I have never once bought anything that said "Made in Ukraine" on the label. Cod and chips cost one and tuppence when I were a lad. And they used to cook it in beef dripping rather than this sunflower oil shit that apparently comes from Ukraine. Perhaps that's the answer?

The price has undeniably gone up though. Not a cheap meal anymore.

The price has undeniably gone up though. Not a cheap meal anymore. It's not just fish and chips though. The best kebab shop in Rugby by a country mile is called "Marmaris", they've just put the price of a lamb shish kebab up from £9.50 to £12.

Marmaris? Gosh, that's a new one. Don't much care for kebabs personally. However the price of fish n chip has gone up from £8.10 to £10.20 in a year.

Over ten pounds for a bag of fish and chips does seem to be a lot.

Over ten pounds for a bag of fish and chips does seem to be a lot. The mini fish, chips and peas we had at Fazeley yesterday was £7.40 each ... plenty for us, and very good too. So what did they call pork crackling in Kent then Mr StabbyRog
