How do people clear irritating swans?
I've heard of water pistols being useful here.
Yesterday was in the dinghy with the offspring units and one of them was blowing soap bubbles.
We went past a pair of swans with cygnets and the parent swans were like "OMG" and got very uppity.
So I think that bubble mixture might be a good swan repellant. Will try it next time I am approached by the vermin.
Not a swan fan.

One of the downsides to having an electric boat I suppose. Swans can’t here you coming.

I was thinking more of when they come through to the side of the boat begging for food.

They are protected birds. They are not aggressive unless they are protecting young, naturally. They will not harm you sissies if you act sensibly. They have no teeth and if the get hold of you, don't pull back and they will let go. I feed lots of them by hand. After a few days they are quite gentle and friendly. The aggression will be reduced if you hold the lower bill for a few seconds as they snap at you. A merry dance in the water ensues and they learn not to grab at you again.

Catch them and drop them off round at Madge's Windsor gaff. People have been knighted for less.

Aside from some worrying questions concerning your apparent hatred for all things avian, if you are worried about swan attacks then maybe an air horn would help.

I'm not at all worried about swan attacks. It's when they hang around and block the view out that it annoys me.
It's not about safety it's about improving the view.

I like to break their wings with my arm. I call it "karma".

I have used the slimy mud trick to good effect, the idea is to throw dollops of squidgy mud at them and they become so obsessed with cleaning and preening that all else is forgotten. A Swan or in fact any water bird is really hung up on keeping clean and therefore waterproof so they don't sink... a bad thing for any water bird.
