I had a narrow escape earlier when I entered a Thames lock before the keeper waved me in. Was in a small grp canoe and I was like "OMG" I was observing the way the lockie was pulling up the sluices and it seemed faster than usual so assumed nobody was in the lock. Turned out there was a 60ft wide bean in there so probably about 24-28 tons and the bugger helming had no idea I was there. It was okay and I knew it was okay but hell's teeth Worse things happen at sea. Pleased to avoid damage to the class act craft. Have you got a brother? Because someone else who posts here looks just like you.

You were so pleasant and helpful to me a few years ago when I sought advice in the Trent. What happened to you Tony? I hope that somehow you can find some light. The benefit, as advice and/or practical help, of my some 59(+) years of operating, maintaining, and repairing commercial craft of widely varying types and sizes, and maintaining and repairing pleasure craft, including hire boat turnrounds, on most of the total mileage of this country's inland waterways, is still readily available to anyone who either needs or asks for it. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! (Gasp) Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! In your imagination, you senile old crook!

That makes him one of many. Who in their right minds would see this forum as a worthwhile thing to participate in ? Thunderboat is still of some limited use to me, because a lot of people -- the more thoughtful and intelligent of the inland pleasure boating community -- read it but don't post, . . and crooked C&RT CEO Parry continues to have it monitored. If and when that ceases, TB will no longer serve any useful purpose, . . and will be put out of its pointless misery by drawing Proboards attention to the frequently libellous garbage that contravenes the site T&C's and is regularly posted by the mindless scum contingent. Better start looking at alternative sites and forums from which you can inflict your vomit inducing drivel on the i nland pleasure boating gullible unadventurous ditch-crawling public ! You were so pleasant and helpful to me a few years ago when I sought advice in the Trent. What happened to you Tony? I hope that somehow you can find some light. Nothing has "happened" to me, Ian, . . . apart from running out of patience with the small number of mindless arseholes and lowlifes who have reduced this forum to nothing but a pointless shadow of its former self where serious subjects invariably get buried under a lot of moronic crap by a few stupid people with nothing better to do than indulge in public displays of their profound and wide ranging ignorance. If you, or anyone else reading this as a Thunderboat member or guest, are ever in need of any help or advice on any future occasion, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Rog... As this is a boating forum, let me put it this way. You moor in a lovely place, only to find a loud, grumpy fisherman opposite. He casts his bait, and within a few minutes catches a load of loud angry fish. So you move the boat 100 yards. Look out the window, and the same fisherman has moved up with you. He casts his bait, and, sure enough, the same fish have followed him, loud and angry. This keeps happening every time you move. So, as you get tired of it, and decide to move onto a different canal, you think... "Why do the same fish keep on taking the same bait all the time? Have they no brains? Can they not ignore the fisherman?" Great fun for the fisherman of course, but so, so, boring to everyone else. But I guess you already knew that. And 'Hello', by the way. What a grand first post. Hellooo. Thank you Jim. It was my first post, and this is probably my last. The fisherman is still fishing...and the fish are still biting... Still, never mind.

Accidental mis-login I'm afraid.
I keep spare names on the account in case of issues with the job.

They said the only hairy bit for them was coming along the tidal Ouse. You’ll not be doing that though I don’t think. Try and find time to play on these parts, there great!

Met the very pleasant chap who was the subject of my opening post ... he is NOT a member here, just occasionally reads threads. He was at pains to point out he is NOT bushfire and did not make the post. So welcome bushfire whoever you are ... why not tell us about the boat you have, or the boat you sold, or the boat you dream of Rog
