No not that one, he caused lots of problems. Thanks and good riddance Nige.
Got our best blackberry pick yet, we've been looking for an undisturbed decent bush, found it in Brighouse. Got a bread bag full in 15 mins, half now washed and frozen, half bubbling away with windfall apples in the jam pan.
We've got so much fruit and veg from garden and allotment we can't eat it all. Going to borrow a dryer from daughter for crispy kale, dusted with chilli powder it's a great snack. Apples will be sliced and dried for winter nibbling. I'll refrain from posting pics of our tomato crop, lots still ripening in the greenhouse alongside peppers and chillies. I have an unfair advantage over boat dwellers.
We've sauerkraut permanently on the go, made from cabbage, other veg, apples etc. Some of our windfalls are brewing into cider vinegar, I must try a glass while it's still rough cider.

When I was living in Essex I used to do a lot of foraging
I knew where the best apples and wild pears were.
In the boatyard at Benfleet there was a big old Bullace tree that always cropped well and loads of Damsons.
(I still have a couple of jars of Damson jam from before I left)
There were always good crops of fungi as well field blewits and occasional wood blewits.
Horse, field mushrooms and puff balls on the sea wall and I also knew a spot where you could get Penny Buns.
wild fennel on the saltings edge and ramsons from the wood.
I also had one spot on the edge of Epping Forrest near my drive to work where you could find St Georges mushrooms in the spring
Nearby was a tree covered in Oyster mushrooms and South Weald was a spot where you could find parasols.
Writing this has made me remember how much enjoyment I used to get from it ......
I have no idea round here what there is about, I must try and find time to explore

Blackberries and Sloes (Mrs Greenman puts them in gin) . I normally put out a couple of creels to get a few lobsters in the freezer (not sure if that counts as foraging)
