I have to confess although I hate LIDL horribly there is one a few hundred yards from my inner city hell hole mooring so can't really avoid it. Waitrose is so much further away.
The frozen pizza at LIDL branded "Alfredo La Pinsa" is fabulous. I feed the offsprings with real food then have one of these small but well made feasts. Adequate toppings including some dead animal products and even a few green chillis.
I can't get enough of this shit. Didn't eat anything yesterday evening as am on a diet but this thing for lunch is going to be fantasmagorical.
£2.19.
Brilliant !

A 'diet' is not having nuffing one day and twice as much the next. You want to buy a lettuce and a carrot and make them last a week.

I was joking. I have the perfect BMI and no need to go on a diet.

Lidl's lasagne (fridge not freezer ... Chef Select beef lasagne) is the best ready made lasagne there is in our view ... £3.99 and it would last you two days easily.
If you're in the place anyway?

I tried the Aldi cheap beer, wasn't a great experience, ok if you want to get ratted for under a tenner, the pilsner is a little better.

Okay I should have said they do some reasonable beers cheap. To be fair I prefer Aldi’s beer selection.

Yes some of the IPA's are good for the price.
One beer i miss from my days living in wales is Brains SA Gold, can never find it in the supermarkets around here, although i did get some once from a supermarket in Coleshill, just on the ouskirts of Birmingham, 30 mile round trip though..
Aldi steaks are better again, they went a bit crap a couple of years ago, but had a couple recently and enjoyed them.

The thing about Aldi and lidl, if they hadn’t brought their business model to the uk we would all have been paying more for our food for the last 20 years or so. Before they shook up the market, the big four supermarkets used to price fix.

Some really good bottled beers in Aldi at great prices.
Trouble is bottles are a pain on the boat ... cans are so much easier to deal with.
