Used to hanker after one of them, till we got this one. Can be awkward getting on and off, with those high gunnels round the cockpit.

Reminds me a bit of the Morgan Giles Mariner. Same sort of bow shape. Nice boat.

Presumably it must be either in Heybridge basin or on the stretch up to Hall bridge.
It's a pretty waterway but only short. The most traffic is the IWA trip boats (three or four of them now I believe)
Would make a good visiting spot for magnetman (the canal itself is probably too shallow) but the basin is a great stopping place and Maldon quayside itself is fascinating

Yes, a grand for the boat and 7k for all the crap that comes with it. I'll bet it "has a mooring" in that there londonland. "a creative outlet for the current owner, the boat will be a project to anyone interested, hence the price. The boat is the feature of a very artistic approach, and with a bit of work can be greatly improved upon." says it all really, though "thrown together by a dipshit, needs a complete rebuild" would have been shorter.

The boat is a heap of scrap but owner an interesting character as it happens. Not a typical "London boater" he's a genuinely unconventional person but also a pleasant person to be chatting with as I discovered

Optimism is rife it would seem ! Surely this is scrap. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dutch-Work-boat-project-/274118387646"15m long 6 m wide built on the lines of a daman engine is detroit not running this is a project work boat been out of the water 3 years needs welding under the water line when finished it will be a good little work boat priced to sell pick up east london and will be lifted onto you transport " And they are trying to get £4k for it. Oh well I suppose it's worth a go. Not sure the 6m beam is correct that seems a bit wide for a 50 footer. "Needs welding" seems to be a bit of an understatement. It looks like a cutting torch might be a more useful piece of equipment than a welder.

I'm beginning to think that peeps spot a pile of abandoned (s)crap on a waterway & then bung it on ebay for silly money!

This is quite interesting. Could well be a completely pointless heap of scrap like so many others but it does appear to be quite a recently constructed piece of scrap. Perhaps a record breaker for the youngest boat to be cut for scrap. Looks a bit newer than 1985 for some reason. maritimesolutions.co.uk/vessels/wide-beam.html70x10 wide bean. I think it might be wider but advertised as 10ft. No power unit.
