It also sounds like a lot of the dirty work has been done.

The expression if it seems too good to be true comes to mind.
It has an achilles heel - perhaps its all the extra trawler yacht steelwork high up which is the problem?
Is it a kit boat built to a Bruce Roberts design?

I suppose there's a limited market for this kind of boat. Because as you say it's height and depth limit its use to big rivers or costal. I imagine if it was ultrasonically tested as stated and remedial work done, the vendor would have proof of this.

I do like it though, if the top superstructure gave any concern you could always have it tilt tested, There's plenty of fishing trawlers out there that have been added to over the years that make this tub look small.

it's a tempting price ...... the engines and gearboxes must come to a goodly proportion of that value

Agreed. Needs a new fit-out but certainly eye catching for the price.

This or something very similar was knocking around goole area a few years ago, it was looking a lot rougher than that though when I last saw it

I mean you never post anything about boats or boating. That's because you are a self-centred Twat with no real, innate feel for humanity, or boats. Caravans? I shit 'em.

Twin gardners would be awesome. So would be good for costal and estuaries. Not abig investment for a boat like this, if it's your type of thing.

I guess the price may be partly due to what it is. I know someone who bought a slightly nackered italian motoryacht for £20k. Its a serious bit of equipment with two modern Volvo power units and lots of high value electronic stuff on board. I would expect the value of the parts to be higher if the boat was dismantled. Problem is that not many people want that kind of boat so sometimes sellers will go very low on price. Its similar with old barges if the thing has equipment and internal fittings then in theory it is more valuable because it is useable but in reality it could be less valuable as the internal fitout is actually just rubbish which needs to be disposed of followed by a refit.

Here's another example, smaller but in my opinion by a better designer. This is going for not much money, but I think the first is better value. As I'd much preference twin gardners. pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=132149200337&globalID=EBAY-GB

Not sure if its the same one but i think the Colvic has been for sale for a long time possibly even been on this thread ?
I agree about the Gardners being more satisfactory than the smokey perkins units but the size of the other boat may go against it a bit as well if you are looking for marina moorings while cruising.
I haven't really looked into it closely but I think it is an advantage to have a boat less than 12 metres long (~40ft)
