This will mean that any visitor moorings located between Milford Turnover Bridge to Haywood Bridge on the Staffordshire & Worcester Canal will also be closed during the works. Works are due to start late January but the exact date is to be confirmed. More details will be provided as soon as they become available. Anyone familiar with this stretch will appreciate that, whilst well walked, this is such an extremely narrow, rural towpath it's unbelievable how they think they might ruin it by attempting to improve it.
Meanwhile, the (shallow) lock along that stretch leaks so badly you've time to make yourself a cup of coffee before stepping over the very wobbly treadboard on the way out....

Anyone familiar with this stretch will appreciate that, whilst well walked, this is such an extremely narrow, rural towpath it's unbelievable how they think they might ruin it by attempting to improve it. Meanwhile, the (shallow) lock along that stretch leaks so badly you've time to make yourself a cup of coffee before stepping over the very wobbly treadboard on the way out.... If the top gate footboard is in such a poor state it's best to avoid using it at all - especially if you're on your own and there's nobody about to help if it gives way and dumps you in the drink. Cross the lock via the boat.
