Having recently passed through, Im wonderinng whether the argument is about who is going to pay for the significant bank damage caused by winding. I think I might get pissed off with the damage that has been caused.s As there are no permanent moorers there now, then CaRT will feel no justification.

'justification' for what -- trying to impose charges and rules relating to something that doesn't belong to them, nor is under their care or control ?

I would be very happy to pass on all the information I have relating to the C&RT(Ltd) End of Garden Mooring pseudo-legalistic nonsense that was gathered by a late close friend and associate of mine relating to BWB and C&RT(Ltd)'s high-handed, and generally illegal, approach to the exercising of rights over private land adjoining canals and other navigations. Shame you didn't learn to be polite and act with assertive gentlemanly behaviour from your friend. Or how to choose your battle, present your case to win. Then you might be out boating now, having paid your dues obvs.

Stop pretending that you know, or knew, about things and people who you DIDN'T know, . . apart from via the pages of either CWDF or Thunderboat.

I'm telling you to shut-up, because you're a stupid vapouring young fart with a boat, . . who pretends that he knows, or knew, about things and people who he DIDN'T know, . . apart from via the pages of either CWDF or Thunderboat. Even so, you haven't answered, are you suggesting the late well respected mate of yours was impolite, rude, cantankerous and a loser everywhere else but CWDF and TB? He was always well mannered but assertive when I read his posts. Typically rude canterkerous and impolite of you repeatedly speaking ill of your dead friend. Manners maketh the man and cost nowt.

If you mean NigelMoore yes he was a well mannered gentleman. I met him more than once and he kindly collected something for me from a boatyard where I had previously bought a boat. He wasn't even the same species as our Tony. Rudeness doesn't get you anywhere.

There was a great comment about Nigel by a judge. It would be a good epitaph I wonder if I can find it somewhere.
He was persistent, polite and genuinely knowledgeable. A good combination.

On 21 June 2023, . . on the Chloroforum, . . Alice said :-
"I wonder if the purpose of the exercise is to trade off free mooring for his boat, against use of the winding hole.
Maybe time will tell."

The owner of Tyrley Wharf doesn't NEED to "trade off" anything with the C&RT(Ltd) megalomamaniacs -- HE OWNS THE WHARF, and therefore has an undeniable right TO MOOR HIS BOAT THERE, AND TO DO JUST WHAT HE WISHES WITH THE PLACE without mealy-mouthed arseholes like you and the C&RT(Ltd) management quibbling about the man's entitlement to do whatever he so wishes with his own property.
If, by any chance, the present owner of Tyrley Wharf is reading or has been made aware of the petty minded twaddle that's been directed at him concerning this matter, I would be very happy to pass on all the information I have relating to the C&RT(Ltd) End of Garden Mooring pseudo-legalistic nonsense that was gathered by a late close friend and associate of mine relating to BWB and C&RT(Ltd)'s high-handed, and generally illegal, approach to the exercising of rights over private land adjoining canals and other navigations.

Have to say the Wharf owner's actions in blocking the use of the winding hole, ONLY affects other boaters and does not affect C&RT in any way. Whether he's within his legal rights or not (and I am told he is) explaining his stance would be a good thing. At present it simply looks a little 'dog in the manger'. Previous owners have moored a boat to their land and also left the winding hole free to use. If there is a dispute re maintenance as brummieboy suggests, perhaps airing the issue would garner support ? Rog

I reckon it is a neighbour dispute as the land ownership including canal is complicated
