I have noticed twice in the last few days, people posting on Jane's facebook boaty pages that they have had their license restricted to six months for alleged non-compliance with requirements for cruising.
Is this indicative of a step-up of enforcement action?
Of course I have no way of knowing if this in the south or south west (London would be my guess).
I've certainly not heard of or met anyone who's been directly affected.
Wondered if any of you have ?

I don't know anyone but when I was paying £10k p.a. for a CRT mooring and had a second boat on the area they eventually did get it onto a 6 month licence.
Its off the CRT water now never to return, a feat which I am intending to succeed in achieving with the other boat at some stage. Been on CRT water too long. It isn't about the CRT it is just I actually don't like ditches.

Have you been a naughty boy Rog? Is there something your not telling us? I wouldn’t have believed it, but after your rebel speech on the 48 he mooring thread on the other channel. I’m starting to think there’s a whole other side to you?

Bearing in mind the very light requirements for range when CCing, these people must be taking the piss big time, I’d have thought. Sorry but I don’t have much time for people who sign up for something they’ve no intention of honouring.

Rog I don’t have much time for people who sign up for something they’ve no intention of honouring. I recently read an article which highlighted a case from some time back where the owner of a boat on a s8 rap argued, successfully, that the requirements for moving the boat are based on temporal, not geographical, criteria; to put it another way, distance was found to be not relevant to the requirements of the two-week rule. However it also stated that since the case was not heard in a 'court of record', e.g not a higher court, it did not set a precedent.

Looks like others have been more Draconian. He must have been blocked and the brief reappearance was just an attempt to get through the filter. There are ways to deal with these things on forums.
It does seem plausible that the CRT have shut him up given his slightly ignorant systematic attempts to badmouth them.

I'm sure they could find out where he is based on the IP or something and get a load of heavies to go round and scare him very badly until he descends into the child ego state.

What you do is find out where they live then shoot them in the head with a big gun and they stop posting.
There are other solutions but you are the tech guy here.
