Finally getting around to replacing my box of tricks that blocked and flooded the bilge.
I seem to remember that there was a whale gulper that didn't need a switch, can anyone point me in the right direction.
Ta.

Presumably I'd still have to let water drain into a bilge/box for that to work. Maybe I'm mistaken (probably am) but I seem to remember something that just detected water and pumped it straight out.

Does this one do what I want? I do have a shower and sink that needs pumping. All looks ok to me.

I suppose that you could have the pump attached directly to the waste outlet and vented overboard. Only issue I can see is making the large diameter of the waste outlet in the shower go to the (probably) 15mm pipe. Still, where there's a will there's a way.
The blurb for the pump I tagged states that it self-primes and will run dry without issue. Seems simple enough.
I'd still prefer there to be some sort of sump / collector, the notion of a small-ish re-purposed expansion tank, about 1 gallon, which would be easier to access than a sump below deck, springs to the imagination. Maybe this is overly complicating things though.

Probably but Shirley the sink is best set up as gravity-drained. KISS

Sure, which is generally something to be avoided but the benefit probably outweighs the negative. Anyway, if the connecting tube is something reasonably substantial and secured with jubilee clips at both ends I don't think it's anything of an issue. Just be careful to establish where the waterline is inside the boat...I read somewhere any let in the hull has to be a minimum of 100mm above it. For the long term some paint and sealant to prevent rust is a good thing. Easily achieved with an electric drill and a suitable hole cutter. Use grease on the cutter. There's stuff specific to the task but in practice almost any sort of grease will do.

Dont buy it, I bought one it failed fairly quickly so did its replacement, so its the over ride switch nowadays, the auto switch often fail in the on position so you might come back to flat batteries!!
