Good one. Soooo hush-hush. Love it. You could always send Tony Dunkley a PM and ask him. Or phone him, he published his phone number often enough.

Well, it's good to hear that you had less than wholehearted support for a war criminal, sworn enemy of the Working Class and admirer of Margaret Thatcher when you voted for him. I guess. it suits your grumpy old man persona to believe all parties are the same That's the beauty of politics. One is allowed to change one's mind.

Struggling to be arsey there lad. He wasn't a war criminal till after he became pm, I didn't vote for him, he wasn't my MP. And as I said, pragmatically , he was the lesser weevil. I realise it suits your grumpy old man persona to believe all parties are the same, however, they are coming from different positions with different aims. Unfortunately they all have the same goal: divide, subjugate and conquer the masses

I remember Wellingboro from when we went down the Nene in 2003.
There was a shoe factory (DM at irthlingboro) and I also remember cars dumped in a lake. A renault five is a long standing memory. A lake or maybe a flooded gravel quarry or something. Cars in it. Would have been a good movie backdrop.
Obviously Northampton is terrible and while moored there for shopping there were some awful scum youthful bag snatchers on mopeds. My mum and I did not have bags but at the lock later in the day I got my magnet ( a sea searcher back in the day) caught on sumpthink and it was a moped! Called BW and remarkably they got there within minutes!! Not an issue but worth being aware of. I expect they were used to it.

Wellingborough by-election coming up. Nice safe Tory constituency. So what? It's a by-election. Yep, and the result seems almost a foregone conclusion, having always enjoyed a comfortable margin. But it will be sensational if the Tories lose it. Also what the margin will turn out to be is of interest.

It's a by-election. It doesn't mean anything in the greater scheme of things.

But if Labour keep scoring hits... Then they might reduce the Conservative majority by 3 or 4 between now and the next General Election. But since that majority is currently 153 I don't see it being particularly relevant.
