Tories say it's important to see the defeats in local context www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-politics-67126173The last 30 seconds of this clip are priceless. None of this matters though. Also in the news: we're probably alright for a turkey at Christmas. Personally I'm not overly keen on turkey though.

As is the result of the next general election.

I hear that one of the losers,Andrew Cooper, instead of giving a traditional well wishing speech to the winning Labour MP had a tantrum and ran off in a huff. Shame we can't get all the current incumbent tories to do the same. Just go, save us all the trouble.

The plan to wake up the tories with a sharp slap to the face was the only way. Come the election, the turnout will increase and labour will lose heavily again. Nobody wants a bankrupt uk with even its gold reserves flogged off, (a regular occurrence with any labour government). Never labour, and never flip flop starmer.

Apparently a lot of Germans were convinced that right at the end Germany would join forces with the Allies and fight Russia.
I love it that you think this is all a cunning plan.

To be fair, the bookies are favouring the Tories. I may have a bet.
I may even watch the election live. It sure will be a night of truth and consequences.
I predict that the winner will be the party that gets the most votes. Unless Labour forms a coalition with the feckin Libs.

By-election results since 2019 (last GE)
Labour gain 5 hold 5 Conservative gain 1 hold 3 LibDem gain 4 hold 0
How many council seats did the Conservatives lose in 2019?
The Conservatives lost control of 44 councils and more than 1,300 council seats. It was the worst Conservative local election performance since 1995, when the party lost more than 2,000 seats.
just saying

I'm not sure I understand the thread title. I don't think Labour winning two by-elections mean they are now the Government?

I just like repeating it and having it as the thread title is a move toward greater efficiency.

No excuse for bad manners though is it. Even though it seems to be the modus operandi for Andrew Cooper and his Tory supporter. You've forgotten it was greedy Tory bankers who destroyed the economy back then.

I wonder what Sue Knack has up his sleeve. It will be a financial inducement to vote Tory but what exact form will it take?
Is he votable ?
