They already get enough money from me for providing less and less.

It won't get anywhere, nobody is interested. CRT have shot themselves in the foot with all their bullshit, and people just won't bother, me included.

They do seem to have lost any credibility they might have had.

Bit of a tricky one, this. The Anderton Boat Lift is never going to make sense from a commercial point of view and it must cost a fortune to maintain so I guess the money has to come from somewhere.

The Anderton lift is obsolete pointless scrap. A bit like Kris's boat then... will your boat still be afloat when itβs 90? Cheeky cunt. If youβve got the balls to say that to my face youβll be going swimming 100% if you donβt believe me try it.

The Anderton lift is obsolete pointless scrap. Until you fancy a trip on the Weaver when passing by on the T&M. Heritage Lottery should pay for it.

The Anderton lift is an interesting issue.
Maintenance takes huge sums of money just to keep the structure sound.
Rather like 'Trigger's brush' it's a monument to the original design, rather than being an original itself.
There must come a time when available funding has to be directed to general maintenence of the system, rather than being swallowed up by a single feature.
But I would imagine no one would wish to see the Anderton lift closed or worse still, demolished.
Pity the National Trust wouldn't accept it as a donation ... there's a successful organisation that would be capable of preserving it for future generations.

Exactly.
Questions need asking and priorities need examining.
An even more pointless waste of money is Β£650k being allocated to converting 4 Oxford canal lift bridges to hand wound hydraulic operation.
Waste of money !
