Fair enough as a way to make extra, as long as it does make a profit.
However I did just send a query through the Contact link
"Just wondering when you will be doing a Life's Better ON Water t shirt, with appropriate expenditure on the infrastructure?"

None of their other fundraising schemes have made money. Charging ccers more might. That’s the point Jim it won’t. It will lead to more licence evasion, so costing more in enforcement. Licence evasion is already on the increase so it will just accelerate the process. Ps you still seem to be suffering under the illusion that I’m a cc’er.

I know you have a mooring, and so pay your fair share to CRT. While you may be right about non payers, the number will decrease as they are cleared from the canals.

While you may be right about non payers, the number will decrease as they are cleared from the canals. That’s rubbish jim if you sell your boat to Mickey Mouse take the name and number off, then crt leave you alone because it’s too difficult for them to do anything especially if you move around as well. Let’s face it they only removed the boats on the K&A because he didn’t move for ten years. Even if you are right about them being cleared the cost to crt is about £8000-10000 so will end up costing more money, so cancelling out any increased revenue from the cc’er surcharge. It’s a dick move on CRT’s part, but as Andrew says I suspect it’s about more than raising revenue. Ps That’s not even taking into consideration the cost of fighting the At least two legal challenges. So can you explain why you think it’s such a good idea.

The fact is that this move by the CRT has definitely raised awareness of the issue.
Once the general public become aware that their taxes are subsidising canals maybe they will become more interested in how they are managed and start asking their MPs what the floating pikey sites are all about.
This is when change happens.
It won't be the CRT who cause major change on canals it will be local or national government.

I imagine the Ukraine war has cost each tax payer more. But yes there is an increased awareness because of this issue.
