TBH this announcement seems to be clear enough evidence that the Tories intend to cling on until the last possible moment. Spring 2025 it is. Still, I could be wrong. Maybe we won't see another Labour gov in my lifetime.

A better philosophy perhaps Rog Someone should have told him it’s rude to write in block capitals.

Also yes the Tories will get in again.
I had a look at the odds and there is this bird called Badenoch. Apparently she is really popular but I can't see it.
Sunak will be shoved out when his finances get looked at by a tabloid and the other woman will get in and acquire votes.

We'll see. The last thing the Tories want is another change of leader.
ETA the batting average since Boris became Our Glorious Leader is a mere three years, although Liz retired to the pavilion a bit early (50 days) so Rishi could go another year at least, which would make it November '24 and then it's too close t'election.
But if we see another Labour gov in my lifetime he'll quit after that.

I'd have to agree that it's not the most attractive presentation of Desiderata , but it is clear to read which is why, I guess it was capitalised. Doesn't detract from the quality of the words too much 😊 Rog

Indeed. There is a reason why capitals are used as emphasis rather than body text.

Forgetting to eat must be a symptom of something. Exactly the point Im trying to make.....These feckers cant even be arsed to get off their lazy backsides to go down to the local foodbanks where, Im assured, theres loads of available stuff to eat... .FFS do these people need everything handing to them on a plate!🙄🙄 Oh, come on, don't be unfair, not just any plate, a hand carved monogrammed slate with rosewood edging please.

And anyway, since he believes in his imaginary friend, anything he says should be taken with scepticism.

I see the point differently ... "Whatever you conceive him to be".
Written in 1925, I consider the words to have stood the test of time, but accept they don't impress you.

I see the point differently ... "Whatever you conceive him to be". Written in 1925, I consider the words to have stood the test of time, but accept they don't impress you. Rog "Whatever you conceive him to be" ... so first of all it must be a he, and secondly he must exist in some form or other. He/it doesn't. And the false beliefs are responsible for 90% of bad things in the world.
Actually I didn't know it was as recent as that, I thought it was some 17th century stuff. An early virtue signaller, obviously. And American too. He missed out the bit at the bottom - ran off the end of the page because block capitals take up more space than lower case - where he said that if you didn't go along with all the above, he'd pull out his gun and shoot you.
