Gary Glitter sold the rights to his songs in 1997, two years before his first conviction for downloading kiddie porn.
Interesting subject, music royalties. In 2003, Gerry Rafferty revealed to a Scottish newspaper that he still received £80,000 a year (equivalent to around £140,000 today) in royalties for "Baker Street" which was a chart hit in 1978, some 25 years previously.
