I don't agree that Brexit has led to increased household bills. Inflation has been a worldwide phenomenon. Only increased administration can be attributed to Brexit. Any such costs are negligible in the broader scheme of things. Don't forget that the hundreds of thousands of low paid migrants who arrived last year are now contributing via hefty visa costs and are required to pay a contribution towards the costs of the NHS. They are excluded from the welfare system and have no entitlement to join social housing queues. A far cry from 'the good old days' when such arrivals were uncontrolled, had immediate entitlement to generous welfare benefits and immediate parity with those waiting for years on the social housing queues. A far more significant Brexit benefit than blue passports or pints of wine, I'll suggest. So stopping free movement of people and associated costs was one benefit in your opinion, anything else of benefit? That's the most significant thing, in my opinion. It seems likely that the EU will force members to accept a share of arrivals through their poorly controlled borders. Britain wouldn't be required to participate, of course. Naturally, Britain would need to get its own act together, for this to be a future benefit. The scope is there though. It wouldn't be, as EU members. Their would be no advantage in being an island state, whilst being a member of the EU.

Most of the downsides of leaving the eu were created purely from an eu sense of "sour grapes". Switzerland is neither a member of the eu nor the EEA but its citizens are free to live and work in the eu. But then the EU needs to access to the Swiss banking sector. I agree the eu have sour grapes and have caused most of the downsides to us leaving. But then you can’t blame them they had to. Imagine if we’d left with no hassle and where seem to be doing well. The eu would have fallen like a house of cards. Italy, Greece and Spain where all watching what happened very closely. What amazes me is people like Jim think if we say okay we made a mistake, please let us back in. That the eu will welcome us with open arms and no financial peanalties. No right or wrong, it’s the democratic decision that as made. We just need to get on with it now, rather than winging over what might have been.

The reality is that the European Union is no different to the Soviet Union, just different countries, and it will eventually collapse in exactly the same way.

You could always engage with the point being made, rather than just talking about argument. That would raise the prospect of debate. Vince earning more Isn't that the most important part in all of this?

Several insignificant downsides, very widely reported, even more widely exaggerated, for sure. There are no 'huge costs'.

Brexit keeps the furriners out. No other benefits to mention. Have I understood correctly?

So it was you that bullied the other members off the committee of the ACC and then pocketed the funds? Go have a shower baldy. Is that really the best you have got? Your a liar and a thief. You bullied the rest of the members of the ACC off the board and then pocketed the remaining subs. Those are the facts and people who’ve been around on the cut long enough know exactly what and who you are. So why don’t you fuck off back to your private Facebook group where you are king. People don’t know you on Facebook like the People who’ve met you in person. So you can pretend to be who you like. If any one challenges you, you can ban them from your kingdom. Doesn’t that suit you more than a forum where nobody likes you? Ps. You can change your name as much as you like but you will always be I-botty boy to me.

Not at all. Britain should welcome foreigners who increase the prosperity of Britain. Talented, highly skilled people, earning great salaries, paying significant taxes. Also foreigners who can fix imbalances in favour of demand over supply for key working roles. The latter though is a symptom of short sighted planning so any such migration ought to be short term, any visas limited in time until a better thought out education/ training regime is estalished, one that serves the needs of the nation i.e. provides the people we need for our roles without significant migration, above everything else.

Did any one actually read that load of bullshit. If you did you’ve got more time to waste than I have. What an arrogant Twat, to presume that anyone is going to read an essay he writes. I’ve worked out what the new name is about E-bygum-botty-boy.

I think you are mistaking me for someone else as usual. As I still have hair, unlike yourself. I’m also a lot lighter than you, so calling me fat isn’t going to work either. Yes yes as you keep saying. The record seems to be stuck you keep repeating yourself. You are making yourself look even less intelligent than you already did. So i suggest you go away and have a quiet word with yourself. Come back when you’ve thought up a real insult and then we’ll continue. You’ve bored me shitless, so goodnight. Ps You will always be I-botty boy to me.

😂😂😂😂😂 get a shower, victim. So it was you that bullied the other members off the committee of the ACC and then pocketed the funds? There is some evidence to be found...https://narrowboater.blogspot.com/2014/05/association-of-continuous-cruisers.html Association of Continuous Cruisers I am a little concerned about the Association of Continuous Cruisers ACC. It seems to have lost its engine (committee). there are currently no elections planned and no volunteers anyway. I found this on another blog, Skippy’s Ramblings, and am Guest posting it here. Will this be the Downfall of the ACC? The Association of Continues Cruisers is, now operating outside its constitutional remit. this is not opinion, this is a fact, where my opinion is present in this post it will be written as such. The Constitution was the central document for the ACC, it was front and centre on the website at www.associationofcontinuouscruisers.org.uk/constitution, Steve Jenkins seems to have deleted it (my back up here, wayback machine here, and PDF). It was originally placed in the public domain so that members, and non members alike could see what the ACC was about, and what its aims were (§4). With the mass resignation recently, leaving only Steve Jay on the committee of the ACC, the association no longer has quorum. In accordance with §4.1 of the aforementioned ACC constitution) Steve can not invite new members to the council (§4.1, §6.3), can not edit the constitution (§4.1, §6.3, §8.1). Steve can not revoke anyones membership of the ACC (see §3.5.2), and can not exclude anyone under §6.7. It is my considered opinion that Steve Jenkins is now running the ACC as his own private club. He has manipulated, bullied, and forced out other committee members, unilaterally made decisions, and shouted down those who disagree with him. It is for these reason that I think he should resign immediately for being in breach of §6.7, and continuing to misrepresent the ACC to CaRT. At the moment there are two options for the ACC: Immediate appointment of an interim council (7 members), whose immediate task shall be the setting up of full and open elections (I do not wish to see Steve Jenkins on this). The winding up of the ACC in accordance with §8.3. I am not a huge fan of #2, so i would prefer to see #1 as the course of action to be carried out, and before you wonder, no I shall not be looking to stand, This is the start of a letter that I hope will be signed by at least 30 full time members of the ACC (§5.2).
