At least he remembers that there are two of them, more than that Boris could remember...

The story says nothing about the polls, that's wishful thinking. This is tory spin, deflecting responsibility because they haven't dealt with it in the last 13 years.

I believed Rishi would call the election in April, but his announcement suggests he's thinking of the second half of the year.
Whatever the date, I cannot see any way the Conservatives can possibly win ... and then I look across to 'Sir' and his dysfunctional acolytes and my heart drops.
Quickly now rectifying the Post Office debacle could be a game changer short term.

I had a personal letter from the honourable Knight, and it seems that he is handling this all on his own. He makes no mention of any 'acolytes'.

I see the Telegraph is reporting on an extensive poll which indicates that the Conservative party will be swept away at the next election on a scale similar to the 1997 election result.
Labour's to lose it seems.

The night that the votes are being counted could be interesting.
In 1997 I was attending a college known for its socialist affiliations. Much alcohol was consumed. When it became clear that the left had won, the room burst into a few rounds of 'The Internationale'.
Two thoughts while I was writing this:
How many of you know why the Spanish Civil War began?
Was Mr Orwell thinking of this tune when he was writing about the fictional song 'Beasts of England'?

I believed Rishi would call the election in April Yes, but then you are an enthusiastic advocate of getting things done early.
